Preble Tutoring & Academic Support Programs

Visions of Success Tutoring Room – Room 157
This opportunity is for all students, grades 9-12, who need extra academic support during their lunch or study period.  The Visions of Success program provides individual and group tutoring from professional members of the community who volunteer their time to work with Preble students.  The emphasis of the tutoring is on science and math, but tutoring for all subjects is available as well.  Rather than being scheduled into a regular study hall, students can request their school counselor schedule them into the V.O.S. room and report there every day.  Another option for students who don’t need tutoring assistance every day is to report to Room 157 as needed and still keep a regular study hall in their schedule.  In this case, students should report directly to V.O.S and not report to their regular study hall first.  The student’s attendance is taken in V.O.S. instead of in the regular study hall.  This is a voluntary program, and poor behavior is not tolerated.  Tutoring is offered every day periods 1-8.Program Contact: Tommy Jennings

UWGB Phuture Phoenix Tutors
UWGB’s Phuture Phoenix is an educational program designed to connect college role models and tutors with Preble students who have the ability to succeed in higher education. All UWGB Phuture Phoenix tutors/mentors are studying to become teachers. Through mentoring and tutoring, it is their goal to open the minds of Preble students so they realize they are capable of attending a university, earning their degree, and achieving their dreams.

  • All Preble students are encouraged to take advantage of this resource.
  • UWGB Phuture Phoenix tutors/mentors work with Preble students during their study hall or lunch period, one-on-one or in small groups.
  • First semester, the UWGB Phuture Phoenix tutors/mentors will be here the week of September 21st through the week of December 7th.
  • Second semester, a new group of UWGB Phuture Phoenix tutors/mentors will start at Preble the week of February 8th and will stop the week of May 3rd.
  • If a student is interested in working with a UWGB Phuture Phoenix tutor/mentor, they should contact their Guidance Counselor, Associate Principal, Social Worker, School Psychologist, or a classroom teacher.
