EC Meeting
There will be a very important environmental club meeting on Monday, May 21st @ 3:10 PM. The meeting will be in the Health room #264. We need to discuss the future of the club and have some service projects to consider. All current members are asked to attend, as well as any new members that would like to consider joining.

FCA
FCA Spaghetti Dinner Banquet is this Sunday 6:30 pm at Spring Lake Church. Coaches, teachers and administrators are invited along with students and their families and friends. This is our season ending event and will include a Fields of Faith video, student testimonies and special music. Please plan to attend. For all forensic officers, there will be a short meeting Monday night in room 123 to decide on plaque designation and showcasing for this year and next. Some new opportunities are available that call for executive decisions.

Senior Scholarship Night

Yearbook
Attention‼ This is an important yearbook announcement! Yearbooks should be picked up TODAY starting at 2:00 in the large gym. Have an ID with you. You can buy a yearbook for $60 at the event if you haven’t done so already

If you cannot pick up your yearbook today, you will have to wait until next week. Listen to announcements on Monday for further information, but right now, Thursday after school in room 127 is the next opportunity Mrs. Baudhuin has to distribute them. She also does that teaching thing during the day, so people cannot just pop in any time to get their book. Again, listen to announcements on Monday for additional information and be patient. We have never done this before and we will do the best job we can.

As the weather gets warmer, we need to remind our female students that all tops must have 2 straps that go over the shoulder

No tube top as they have NO straps
No halter top as they have straps that go around the neck

The rule is that straps must go over each shoulder – and the straps must be part of the outer garment

Boys’ Basketball
Mandatory meeting for anyone planning to try out for boys basketball next year Wednesday after school at 3:00 in the health room.

Boys’ Golf
Yesterday the boys’ varsity and JV golf teams competed in the FRCC eastern division meet at Branch River. The varsity finished 2nd and were led by Andy Miske with a 76. The JV team finished 3rd and were led by Jacob Glaser with a 91.

Attention Car Show Participants

Football
This announcement is a reminder to anyone interested in playing Football next year. The football sign up meeting will be held this Wednesday, May 16th immediately following the all fall sports meeting after school in the main gym.

If you cannot make the meeting it is important that you see coach Donart or one of the other coaches to get the paperwork and sign up for the summer strength and conditioning program.

MAC Scholars
MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in Room 107. Diversity Leadership students will engage us in a very interesting diversity activity. All are welcome.

Yearbook
Attention Preble students! Following are some VERY important yearbook announcements:
Pre-ordered Yearbooks will be handed out on Friday in the Large Gym starting at 2:00 during the Big Event Yearbook signing party. If you did not pre order a yearbook, you can purchase one for $60 until the extras run out.

If you do not pick up your yearbook at the planned Big Event, you will have to wait until next week, Thursday, May 24th from 3:00-3:45 in room 127 to do so. In other words, get to the large gym on Friday and get your book!

And finally, all this week during the lunch periods, yearbook staff will be selling raffle tickets for $1.00 for a chance to win some great prizes during the Big Event. You MUST be present to win, so again, go to the large gym on Monday, from 2-3 and pick up your yearbook‼!

Baseball
Saturday, May 12th the boys Varsity Baseball Team with be hosting Sheboygan North in a double header at Joannes with first game at 11:00. Come and cheer our Senior players at their last home game.

The Senior Ball tickets are on sale in the Main Office. We must call in a reservation TODAY at the end of the day. YOU MUST PURCHASE your ticket TODAY, or if you cannot pay the entire ticket price, you must at least put down a reservation and $20 non-refundable deposit to be paid by next Wednesday morning. Please act before it is too late.

Spring Fling
Hey, Preble! Monday marks the start of our Spring Fling Week. There are dress-up days, daily trivia on the PA and daily hall hunts. Look for the calendars around the halls and on the Hornettron. Monday’s dress up is Student Activity Day—wear Preble gear or shirts from activities you are involved in at Preble. Look for paper Brad Boockmeiers in the hall hunt and listen for the trivia during third hour announcements.

STINGCANCER
It’s great to see everyone wearing yellow today. Cancer has probably affected each of us in one way or another. Today is all about thinking of those who have been affected by cancer – whether they are here physically or with us in spirit only.

At 4:30 – 6:00 tonight, we will have a Family Fun Event with kids’ games, food for sale, silent auction, and inflatables. From 6:00 – 6:30 we will hear from some cancer survivors and at 6:30 we will have some comedic relief with Comedy City. Comedy City will run from about 6:30 – 7:30 and admission is free! Please join us and bring your friends and family.

Girls’ Soccer
The Girls’ Varsity soccer team lost a close match yesterday 2-1 in double overtime. Hailey heath scored for Preble with an assist going to Lindsey Gaestel. Mallory Guerts was in goal and made 4 saves.

Boys’ Golf
Yesterday the boys’ golf team competed in an FRCC conference meet at Brown County. The team finished in 5th place with a team score of 167. Leading the team were Trevor Kim 41, Andy Miske 42, Michael Gehm 42, Chad Westenberg 42 and Alex White 45.

Car Show
Thanks to all who picked up car show entry forms. As a reminder the deadline to enter is this Friday, May 11th. All applications and a copy of your Wisconsin Driver’s License must be turned in by 3 p.m. this Friday to room 187 the Preble Agriscience Department. You also must have all of your teachers sign the application in order to enter.

Girls’ Track and Field
The girls’ track team placed first in the 6 team Eastern Division meet last night at Manitowoc. The team scored 218 points, easily outdistancing second place Manitowoc by 124 points.
The team was led by first place finishes from Annie Robertson, Lauren Orfield, Meagan Hilla, Clair Campbell, Emma Hendricks, Brooke Porath, Sarah Heesacker, and Whitney Joseph. Congratulations girls.

Preble Hornets Girls JV soccer took 2nd place last weekend in the West Bend Tournament going 2-1. Scoring goals for the Hornets were Taryn Allen and Abbi Briggs each scoring 2 goals and Carli Smits with a goal.

Last Night the Preble Girls JV soccer team beat Southwest 2-0. Scoring for the hornets was Keelie Heck and Abbi Briggs.

Boys’ Golf

Congratulations to the boy’s track and field team on its win in the 12-team FRCC conference relay meet. Robert Starnes, Cory Cegelski and Will Daniels were 4-event winners and set three conference records each. Triple event winners include: Brad Boockmeier, Colton Van Rite, Drew Schneider, Jake Wallenfang, and Jamel Robertson.

A reminder to all boys competing in tonight’s Patriot Invite in Appleton, they are to be dismissed from class at 1:50. The bus will leave at 2:15.

Fox Valley Technical College will be having a Design and Portfolio Show May 9, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 2 p. m. and an Art Reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Wisconsin Private College Week, Monday through Saturday, July 9th through 14, 2012. Students will receive a waiver of application fees at each campus they visit. You can also register online at www.privateCollegeWeek.com to win five $1,000 to help pay college tuition.

Tomorrow morning Tuesday May 1st at 7:00 a.m. is our last NHS meeting. Please remind your fellow NHS students and be prompt. We are planning for the NHS Induction Ceremony.

Link Crew
Attention students selected to be Link Leaders next year: Due to unexpected circumstances, we are changing the location of our May Day training to the LMC instead of the Auditorium. Be sure to come to the LMC after 7th hour on Wednesday!

Boys Track & Field
Congratulations to the Boys Track & Field team in their win at the Marquette Invitational on Saturday. Preble defended off some of the best competition from the state to win by over 60 points. Robert Starnes was named the meet MVP after winning the Long Jump, High Jump and 400 meter relay. He also placed in the triple jump. Event winners include Nick Freitag, Tanner Fliss, Zach Jindra, Daniel Laluzerne, Jake Wallenfang, Jamel Robertson, Will Daniels, Cory Cegelski, Brad Boockmeier, and Drew Schneider.

Boys’ Volleyball
There will be an open gym tonight for boys interested in playing volleyball from 7:00-8:30 pm.

Speech Forensics
There will be a speech forensics officers meeting after school today in room 123. The awards banquet, senior showcase and video will be discussed.

Wednesday there will be a general meeting for all speech forensic members.

Girls Track
The Preble girls track team took home two victories last Friday night. The varsity went into Oshkosh to win the 9 team invitational and the JV team went over to West High to win the cross over meet. Both teams recorded several personal bests in winning their meets. One highlight was Hailey Valentine tying the school record in the high jump only to have Meagan Hilla top that minutes later. Congratulations girls.

Girls going to the conference relays today should check the line ups posted and be released at 2:20.

Girls’ Volleyball
There will be an open gym tonight for girls’ volleyball from 7-8:30. Hope to see you there!

Good Morning Preble High School! Even though yearbooks can no longer be ordered online, you can bring $60 to the Big Yearbook Signing Event on May 18th to purchase a copy and be part of the fun!

Sports Academy
Are you a student athlete who currently works out with Brandon in the weight room after school? If you want to continue staying in shape throughout the summer, you will need to sign up for the speed and agility course though the Preble Sports Academy. You can either obtain a form online or in the office. The cost for this course for the summer is $13, and can be turned in to the main office.

Wrestling
The last Spring off-season wrestling practice will take place on Monday night from 6-7:30. Practice on Wednesday will be cancelled. If you plan on going to Freestyle/Greco State next weekend May 5th and 6th please let Coach Kleuskens know ASAP.

FCA Leaders this is a reminder there will be a leaders meeting tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. in the main office.

Softball
Please support the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshmen Softball today by showing up for their home games at 4:30, at Finger Road Park. The park is near The Woods golf course, just off of East Mason Street. The concession stand will be serving Free Hotdogs for all students and fans. Coach Metzler says he has not seen Andrea in awhile and hopes she will attend, but she’s limited to 5 hotdogs.

Talent Show
Don’t forget to come out to the Talent Show tomorrow night at 6:30 pm in the Preble Auditorium! For only $2 per person, you will witness live, in person acts of incredible talent! An added bonus – delicious goodies and flowers will be for sale during Intermission! Hope to see you there! All acts – make sure you come to the dress rehearsal right after school TODAY in the auditorium!

NEWSPA Conference
Congratulations to the Buzz staff and Sara DeGrave for being awarded two writing awards at the NEWSPA CONFERENCE YESTERDAY AT UW-OSHKOSH.

The Environment Club
The Environment Club will be having a very important meeting on Monday, April 30, after school in the Health room (#264). All members are strongly encouraged to attend, as we have some very important information to go over. We also welcome any students who would like to become part of The EC to join us.
