Boys’ Golf
Yesterday the boys golf team competed in the FRCC conference championship meet at Wander Springs. Leading the team were Trevor Kim 82, Chad Westenberg 85, Micheal Gehm 86 and Andy Miske 89. The team finished the year in 5thplace in the conference.

Congratulations to Andy Miske and Trevor Kim for earning honorable mention all-conference!

EC Meeting
There will be a very important environmental club meeting on Monday, May 21st @ 3:10 PM. The meeting will be in the Health room #264. We need to discuss the future of the club and have some service projects to consider. All current members are asked to attend, as well as any new members that would like to consider joining.

FCA
FCA Spaghetti Dinner Banquet is this Sunday 6:30 pm at Spring Lake Church. Coaches, teachers and administrators are invited along with students and their families and friends. This is our season ending event and will include a Fields of Faith video, student testimonies and special music. Please plan to attend. For more information, visit the front office or speak to one of our FCA student leaders.

Football
This announcement is for any football player who was not able to attend the football sign up meeting. Please stop down when you have time to pick up all of the information and paper work from coach Donart in the boys P.E. office.

Forensics
For all forensic officers, there will be a short meeting Monday night in room 123 to decide on plaque designation and showcasing for this year and next. Some new opportunities are available that call for executive decisions.

Parking Passes
No day parking passes will be sold on Monday so please plan accordingly.

Preble Cross Country
If anyone missed Wednesday’s girls meeting please see Coach Loritz around the PE area for the necessary information. All boys will be having their team meeting on Tuesday, May 22nd at 3:15 in room 265. Whether you are a veteran runner or brand new to the sport of distance running the meeting will help answer any questions about the upcoming season. We need as many individuals out for the team as possible, there are no cuts and everyone participates in every meet. Take on the challenge of a lifetime and join the ongoing tradition of Preble Cross Country!!!

STINGCANCER
Sting cancer will not be selling yellow t-shirts today. Sting cancer will be selling yellow t-shirts next week during the lunch hours.

Senior Scholarship Night
Students who will be at Senior Scholarship Night: Please attend an informational meeting during 7th hour on May 21st in the Preble Auditorium. Report to your 7th hour class first so that your teacher can take attendance and then go to the auditorium. We will be giving you information regarding the evening. Thank you for your cooperation.

Literacy Lab
The literacy lab will be closed all day Friday, May 18th. It will open again on Monday, May 21st

Yearbook
Attention‼ This is an important yearbook announcement! Yearbooks should be picked up TODAY starting at 2:00 in the large gym. Have an ID with you. You can buy a yearbook for $60 at the event if you haven’t done so already

If you cannot pick up your yearbook today, you will have to wait until next week. Listen to announcements on Monday for further information, but right now, Thursday after school in room 127 is the next opportunity Mrs. Baudhuin has to distribute them. She also does that teaching thing during the day, so people cannot just pop in any time to get their book. Again, listen to announcements on Monday for additional information and be patient. We have never done this before and we will do the best job we can.

Fall Sports Sign Up
There will be a mandatory meeting for all students involved in sports for this upcoming fall. All students interested in football, cross country, boys soccer, girls golf, girls swimming, girls tennis and boys and girls volleyball please attend this meeting on TOMORROW May 16th at 3:15 in the big gym. All spring coaches are aware that is meeting is being held. If this is conflicting with any practice please still attend, your current coaches will cooperate.

Dress Code Policy
As the weather gets warmer, we need to remind our female students that all tops must have 2 straps that go over the shoulder

No tube top as they have NO straps
No halter top as they have straps that go around the neck

The rule is that straps must go over each shoulder – and the straps must be part of the outer garment

Boys’ Basketball
Mandatory meeting for anyone planning to try out for boys basketball next year Wednesday after school at 3:00 in the health room.

Boys’ Golf
Yesterday the boys’ varsity and JV golf teams competed in the FRCC eastern division meet at Branch River. The varsity finished 2nd and were led by Andy Miske with a 76. The JV team finished 3rd and were led by Jacob Glaser with a 91.

The Buzz
The Buzz staff will be meeting tin the LMC tonight after school. If you have not turned in your article for this issue, please stop in room 132 today, or be in the LMC after school. Senior surveys : Thank you to all those seniors who filled out a survey. See the results in the last issue.

Attention Car Show Participants
The Annual Preble Car Show is right around the corner. All participants must attend a mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday, May 16th for more information. Anyone who cannot make this meeting will need to contact Tyler Kroll and Nathan Lamal or stop by room 187 on Thursday.

Preble Cross Country Team

TIP Grants
Terri Schneider, from the Department of Public Instruction, will be at Preble today, 8th hour, in the Career Center to meet with students who applied for TIP Grants.

Football
This announcement is a reminder to anyone interested in playing Football next year. The football sign up meeting will be held this Wednesday, May 16th immediately following the all fall sports meeting after school in the main gym.

If you cannot make the meeting it is important that you see coach Donart or one of the other coaches to get the paperwork and sign up for the summer strength and conditioning program.

MAC Scholars
MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in Room 107. Diversity Leadership students will engage us in a very interesting diversity activity. All are welcome.

Parking Pass

Spring Fling
Happy Super Hero Day. Here’s hoping that your day is as super as it can be. Today look for the Batman logo in the hall hunt. If you find a hall hunt item, bring it to the Main Office for a prize. Today’s trivia is: What is Batman’s real identity? If you know the answer, please submit your answer with your name on it to the box in the Main Office.

Yesterday’s trivia winner is Joe Turbett with the answer of “running back” and punter.

Tomorrow’s dress up is Cow Pie High Day—dress in farm gear to honor those past days of Preble when many of the students lived on area farms.

Boys’ Tennis
Attention all 9th, 10th and 11th graders on the Boys Tennis Team, we’ll have a brief meeting today right after school at the tennis courts. JV players please bring your two team shirts and team shorts to the meeting

Track and Field
Participants in tonight’s conference track meet are reminded to be released at 1:20 today. All other track athletes should get their banquet money and uniforms turned in as soon as possible.

Yearbook
Attention Preble students! Following are some VERY important yearbook announcements:
Pre-ordered Yearbooks will be handed out on Friday in the Large Gym starting at 2:00 during the Big Event Yearbook signing party. If you did not pre order a yearbook, you can purchase one for $60 until the extras run out.

If you do not pick up your yearbook at the planned Big Event, you will have to wait until next week, Thursday, May 24th from 3:00-3:45 in room 127 to do so. In other words, get to the large gym on Friday and get your book!

And finally, all this week during the lunch periods, yearbook staff will be selling raffle tickets for $1.00 for a chance to win some great prizes during the Big Event. You MUST be present to win, so again, go to the large gym on Monday, from 2-3 and pick up your yearbook‼!

Anime Club
This is a reminder to Anime Club members that today is our last meeting in Room 200 at 3:15 and you may bring treats to share.

Attention Seniors in NHS
If you ordered and paid for a NHS stole you can pick it up in the Student Services office beginning today.

Mr. Pannier stills need to hear from 30 seniors indicating if you need a stole or if you already have a stole. Please complete the order form asap.

National Chocolate Chip Day
On Tuesday, May 15, National Chocolate Chip Day, the LMC will forgive fines for a donation of chocolate chips or powdered lemonade. Stop in the LMC for additional details.

Baseball
Saturday, May 12th the boys Varsity Baseball Team with be hosting Sheboygan North in a double header at Joannes with first game at 11:00. Come and cheer our Senior players at their last home game.

Senior Ball
The Senior Ball tickets are on sale in the Main Office. We must call in a reservation TODAY at the end of the day. YOU MUST PURCHASE your ticket TODAY, or if you cannot pay the entire ticket price, you must at least put down a reservation and $20 non-refundable deposit to be paid by next Wednesday morning. Please act before it is too late.

Spring Fling
Hey, Preble! Monday marks the start of our Spring Fling Week. There are dress-up days, daily trivia on the PA and daily hall hunts. Look for the calendars around the halls and on the Hornettron. Monday’s dress up is Student Activity Day—wear Preble gear or shirts from activities you are involved in at Preble. Look for paper Brad Boockmeiers in the hall hunt and listen for the trivia during third hour announcements.

Cancer Ribbons
Today – There are 5 Grand Prize cancer ribbons hidden in the hallways. If you find one, take it to room 260 to claim your prize.

STINGCANCER
It’s great to see everyone wearing yellow today. Cancer has probably affected each of us in one way or another. Today is all about thinking of those who have been affected by cancer – whether they are here physically or with us in spirit only.

At 4:30 – 6:00 tonight, we will have a Family Fun Event with kids’ games, food for sale, silent auction, and inflatables. From 6:00 – 6:30 we will hear from some cancer survivors and at 6:30 we will have some comedic relief with Comedy City. Comedy City will run from about 6:30 – 7:30 and admission is free! Please join us and bring your friends and family.

Girls’ Soccer
The Girls’ Varsity soccer team lost a close match yesterday 2-1 in double overtime. Hailey heath scored for Preble with an assist going to Lindsey Gaestel. Mallory Guerts was in goal and made 4 saves.

Boys’ Tennis
Last night the boys tennis team defeated Appleton East 4-3, Doubles winners were: Andrew McDonald & Jaren Sternard, Brennan Dougherty & Kurt Ahonen and A J Kempke & Cristian Vasiliev. Brad Maccoux was the lone singles winner. Tonight the boys tennis team plays Sheboygan North right after school at Preble, all members of the boys tennis team will be playing.

Boys’ Golf
Yesterday the boys’ golf team competed in an FRCC conference meet at Brown County. The team finished in 5th place with a team score of 167. Leading the team were Trevor Kim 41, Andy Miske 42, Michael Gehm 42, Chad Westenberg 42 and Alex White 45.

Car Show
Thanks to all who picked up car show entry forms. As a reminder the deadline to enter is this Friday, May 11th. All applications and a copy of your Wisconsin Driver’s License must be turned in by 3 p.m. this Friday to room 187 the Preble Agriscience Department. You also must have all of your teachers sign the application in order to enter.

Also, please note the car show is only open to current Preble High School students. You can pick up applications in the main office. See Tyler Kroll or Nathan Lamal, car show coordinators if you have any questions.

The Preble Yearbook Event
Do you know what event is only 8 days away? The Preble Yearbook Event of 2012! Get ready to have some fun with your friends in the large gym at 2 pm on May 18th to receive your yearbook and sign the books of your friends. It’s a time you’re sure to remember.If you didn’t pre-order a yearbook online, we will have a limited supply for sale on the 18th for $60, so plan ahead!

Senior Survey
Don’t forget to fill out the senior survey! You have until Mother’s Day to complete it. Find the survey on the Preble website under Buzz worthy news.

Tomorrow is WEAR YELLOW DAY. Remember to wear something yellow. We want to see every single person at Preble wearing yellow for the day.

Then come to the Commons from 4:30 – 6:00 for a Family Fun Event . There is a silent auction, kids’ games, inflatables, and food for sale. At 6:30, Comedy City will be performing in the auditorium with free admission.

STINGCANCER members can be released from classes today at 9:55 for the Wear yellow day press conference in the LMC. The list of students who are able to attend is located on the staff drive under field trips.

Attention Anime Club Members!

Boys’ Golf
Yesterday, the boys’ golf team competed in the Branch River Invite. The team of Michael Gehm and Evan Schauer had team score of 80 and Thomas Heraly and Evan Burkart had a team score of 83.

Kawanis Awards
Congratulations to the following students who received awards Monday night at the Kawanis Awards. Joy Underdahl and Charlie Zuege for Art, Dane Hansen and Sara DeGrave for Forensics, Allie Loewe, Jena Tolksdorf, Carson Edelman for Music, and Sara DeGrave and Melissa Lemens for Jornalism.

Girls’ Track and Field
The girls’ track team placed first in the 6 team Eastern Division meet last night at Manitowoc. The team scored 218 points, easily outdistancing second place Manitowoc by 124 points.
The team was led by first place finishes from Annie Robertson, Lauren Orfield, Meagan Hilla, Clair Campbell, Emma Hendricks, Brooke Porath, Sarah Heesacker, and Whitney Joseph. Congratulations girls.

Seniors
Seniors check the list of names on the LMC door for your name on the red, white, and blue sheet. If you’re on the list, please stop in the Career Center to get your cord.

Senior Ball Tickets

Today is cap and gown delivery day! Representatives from Brickhouse School Services will be in the commons during the lunch hours , today, handing out cap and gown orders. Please be sure to pick up your order today.

Girls’ Soccer
The Varsity Girls soccer team beat Southwest last night 3-1. Sarah Boyd had two goals and Kendra Kawula added one as well. Kayla Hearly and Mallory combined to have 4 saves in goal.

Preble Hornets Girls JV soccer took 2nd place last weekend in the West Bend Tournament going 2-1. Scoring goals for the Hornets were Taryn Allen and Abbi Briggs each scoring 2 goals and Carli Smits with a goal.

Last Night the Preble Girls JV soccer team beat Southwest 2-0. Scoring for the hornets was Keelie Heck and Abbi Briggs.
