Girl's Basketball
A reminder that the girls basketball team begins WIAA Regional action tonight and they host Menasha High School tonight at 7:00 p.m. Please join in the excitement and come cheer to girls on to a victory.

Boy's Golf
There is a mandatory meeting next Tuesday, March 16th after school in room 146 for all boys interested in joining the golf team. Please contact Mr. Johnson if you have questions.


MAC Scholars
MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in Room 107

Attention anyone interested in the 2010 Green Bay 3-Point Tournament.

In cooperation with the City Wide Free Throw Tournament, we are trying to find out who are the best 3-point shooters in Green Bay. If interested register at Southwest High School Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 8:15 PM. For more details pick up an information sheet in the main office.

Attention girls soccer players

There will be an important informational meeting about tryouts and the up coming season. Please meet in the Health room right after school today Tuesday, March 9th.

Attention Sting Cancer members:

We will have a 10 minute meeting tomorrow, Wednesday due to school being off on Thursday. If you want any family and friends to be invited to the Dessert Gala, you must turn in a list of those people. Also you need to stop by and get set with final preparations for Saturday’s St. Baldrick’s Event. See you all on Wednesday for a short meeting in the LMC.

Battle of the Bands
Green Bay West High School is hosting the 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands on Friday, March 12th West High School gymnasium. We are currently looking for area high school bands that are interested in competing.

Any style music and at least one member must be a current student at the high school level to participate. Information sheets are available in the main office.

Attention Cast and Crew of the play The Handyman Bride:

The final day to hand in contracts, parent surveys and t-shirt orders is Wednesday, March 10. Do you intend to continue participating in the play?? “No forms in” means “no participation”. Turn those forms in in the Choir Room.

Forensics
There will be a short forensic follow up meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday March 10 after school in room 123. If you have not handed in your “t” shirt design or completed any of the other requirements please do so by tomorrow night.

There will also be a scheduled forensic meeting next Wednesday in room 123. This is one day before districts so KEEP PRACTICING!

Graduation Speakers

Last night several members of the senior class auditioned to be speakers at the graduation ceremony. There were many good speeches, but unfortunately only two students could be selected.

Congratulations to Kate Hale and Mary Arendt in being chosen to represent this year’s graduating class.

Math Team
Congratulations to the Preble Math Team for finishing SECOND Monday night at the Pulaski Math Meet

Individual Winners were:
5th Place – Augustine Santillan
2nd Place – Joshua Shutter
1st Place – McKinley Meyer

With Preble’s second place finish, Preble captured the CHAMPIONSHIP of the Metro Math League.

PAC

The Political Awareness Club meeting will not meet this Wednesday, but resume discussions about whether banks are too big to fail, next week on March 17th. Again there is no PAC tomorrow.

The Buzz
Buzz staff members need to turn in their permission slips for the Newspa field trip by March 10.

Softball Open Gym
Softball open gym on Thursday March 11th will be held from 6:30-8:00 for Freshmen and Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors 7:30-9:00.

St. Baldrick’s
St. Baldrick’s is coming to Preble quickly. It is this coming Sat., March 13. Consider shaving your head or come to watch the action. Besides the shaving, there is a silent auction, games for kids, and food/drink to purchase. For more information, go to the website: stbaldricks.org. All money earned goes to childhood cancer research.

Engineering Summer Program
The University of WI-Madison, College of Engineering Diversity Affairs Office will be hosting its annual Engineering Summer Program for high school students currently in 10th and 11th grades. Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. It will take place June 20 – July 30th. Application deadline is April 9th. Stop in the Career Center for further information.

There are many summer camp opportunities at various colleges throughout the area. Stop in the Career Center for an application.

Tennis
Any tennis players that missed yesterday’s sign-up meeting should see Mrs. Weuve in Room 247 sometime today.

Upward Bound
Please support Upward Bound tonight by stopping in for a meal at Culvers. If you eat at Culvers today, March 9th from 5-8 p.m., Upward Bound will receive 10% of the profits. Upward Bound helps make college affordable and possible for many students at Preble. Please come support us at 2945 Voyager Drive near the East Marcus Cinema.
