Cheerleaders
Congratulations to the cheerleading team for taking 1st place this Saturday at regionals. They have now qualified for State which will be held Saturday Feb 13th. Congrats ladies!"

Wrestling
The wrestling team continued on its’ roll this season, easily outdistancing Ashwaubenon and Wrightstown by over 30 points to win the Door County Classic in Sturgeon Bay. The team was lead by 1st place finishes from Marshall and Matthew Pennings. Marshall, who is ranked second in the state at 135 pounds, dominated his weight class, majoring every wrestler. He improved his record to 35 and 4. Matthew, who is ranked first in state at 160 pounds, improved his record to 37 and 0 by pinning his finals opponent in three minutes. Ten other wrestlers placed for the team led by Christian Tointon, Mark VandenAvond, and Pat DeWane who all placed second and Steven Cygan who placed third.

The JV was also in action and had a successful weekend at the Bayport Invitational. The team had seven first place finishes with Alex Cooney, Josh Romero, Tyler VanEss, Tyler Exferd, Lorenzo Carr, Ryan Wessel, and Ned Nicholsen all winning championships.

Taking second was Cody Hallam, Jesse Leuthoudom, Travis Rukamp, and David Rentmeester.

The 5th Annual Great Paper Airplane Toss
The 5th Annual Great Paper Airplane Toss at Lambeau will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Lambeau Field Atrium. If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s event please let Mr. Baudhuin know! We are seeking folks to help with registration, directing people to the “flight deck”, marking planes, and help clearing the “runway” after they’ve been flown.
Students who volunteer can learn service learning hours for helping out.

Art Club will be meeting tomorrow in room 183.

Boys Golf
There will be an informational meeting for all boys interested in joining the boy’s golf team next Tuesday, February 9th after school in room 146. See Mr. Johnson for more information.

Attention Buzz staff:
we will meet Monday after school with layout, editors, and any staff member who has not turned in their articles. We are working on closing this issue this week.

FBLA
There will be an FBLA meeting after school on Wednesday in room 146. We will be preparing for Saturday’s regional competition.

Soccer Referee Training
Green Bay Lighting is offering a BAY AREA SOCCER REFEREE TRAINING CLINIC. The clinic is taking place on Feb. 20th at Aurora Baycare. If you are interested in this clinic forms can be picked up in the main office.

Seniors and juniors welcomed

This week is National School Counselor week.
In celebration, each day Monday – Thursday, students will be given a chance to win a prize by answering a question correctly. Place your answer in the container at the Student Services desk between classes or at lunch, and winners from each grade level will be drawn daily.

Book Club
Those who have read Inexcusable for this month can meet in the LMC during all lunch hours on Wednesday to discuss the novel. Bring your lunch! J If you have any questions, please see Ms. Pearson or Ms. Suda.

Special Chess Club Announcement:
Due to the faculty meeting on Monday, Chess Club will NOT be meeting. However, we do have information on our fundraiser and I would like to meet in the LMC on Tuesday for all of those that can make it. Spread the word. In addition to talking about our fundraiser, we can also help other clubs in the “Hands for Haiti” program.

Softball Open Gym
There will be a softball open gym for just pitchers and catchers on Monday, February 1st from 7:30 9:30. This is a change from previously announced.
