FCA
This Sunday is the FCA SuperBowl Bash at 5:00 at the Griswold’s house. Snacks are appreciated. Sloppy Joes will be provided. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there!

Girls Basketball

Come out tonight and see the girls basketball team improve on their 7-2 conference record tonight as they host DePere. Freshmen and JV begin at 5:45 and Varsity begins at 7:30 p.m.

Varsity Girls Volleyball

Congratulations to the following varsity girls’ volleyball players for earning the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Academic award for the fall semester: Hanna Buckles, Megan Harrison, Dana Bonjean, Jenna Smits, Carson Edelman and Annie Goerdt.

Also, congratulations to Annie Goerdt for receiving Special Mention on Prepvolleyball.com’s list of the top varsity-playing freshmen volleyball players in the country.

Seniors:

Great Lakes College Access Team will be at Preble on Friday, February 19th and February 26th during 6th, 7th and 8th hours. This federally funded program provides help completing admission paperwork and financial aid applications. During this time a representative will walk students through the FAFSA step-by-step to help eliminate any possible confusion. Parents are welcome to attend these sessions. Please sign up in advance for designated time slots with Ms. Bossell in Career Services.

Night at the Lanes

Hey Preble, are you looking for an inexpensive and fun way to kick off the weekend? If so, clear your schedule for Friday, February 19th when Link Crew sponsors our first Night at the Lanes bowling event. Start putting together your team and listen next week for more details.

Attention Math Team Students

Our 4th Math Meet is Monday, Feb. 15th at Ashwaubenon High School.

All blue confirmation slips are due today, Friday, Feb. 5th. Please give them to your math teacher or drop them off in room 237

“Talking Valentines”

Forensics Team is selling “Talking Valentines” the week of February 8th-11th. You pick a design, a poem; pay a dollar and have a valentine delivered and recited to your special someone on February 12th.

17th Annual Preble Ping Pong Tournament

Looking for something to do on a cold winter’s day? Plan to play in the 17th Annual Preble Ping Pong Tournament! It’s Saturday February 13 & open to ALL Preble Students. There are guys and girls divisions.

Registration is 11:00 am, Lunch at 11:30, and the competition beginning at noon! Already nearly 65 students have signed up ----Why not join them? Sign up to play in the main office.

SMART

The Science, Math, And Rational Thinking club will meet briefly after school today in room 229 to work on Solar Olympics and electricity projects.

Student Council

Here are some important announcements from the Student Council:

1 – Snow Ball is a week away. Tickets will be on sale all next week in the Commons during lunch hours. Each ticket costs $10.00. Please remember to bring your completed Guest Pass form if you plan to bring a non-Preble guest to the dance, as you cannot buy that ticket without the completed form.

2 – If you would like to help out the children of Haiti, there is an easy way. All next week during the lunch hours the Student Council will be taking orders for special Haiti Relief T-shirts for $10.00 each. For each shirt we sell, $5.00 will be donated to the UNICEF fund for the children of Haiti.


Attentions Students:
Over the last week student have had delivered to them manila envelopes with academic awards in them. These awards were for students who had a cumulative GPA of 3.5 for last school year. If you have any questions on your awards please see Mrs. Petitjean in the main office.

Wrestling

Congratulations to the wrestling team! They knocked off Manitowoc last night 43 to 16! Matt Pennings defeated another top 5 wrester by earning a hard fought 3-0 decision over Tyler Wetencamp. Matt is undefeated going into regionals! In their final senior duals, Spencer Tielens and Pat DeWane got pins while Mark VandenAvond won in overtime. Also earning a pin last night was Marshall Pennings. Winning by decisions were Steven Cygan, Alex Cooney, Dalton Tielens, and Jason Romitti. The team finished their conference season with seven wins and only one loss. They took second place behind a tough Pulaski team that is ranked fourth in state. Preble- East finished the season fourteen and four in dual meets and is ranked tenth in state.
