Wrestling
The Preble-East wrestling team finished fourth out of 16 teams at the very tough Whitnall Duals this past weekend. The hi-light of the tournament was knocking off the overall #1 seed Stoughton 34-27. The team lost a wrestler due to injury and dropped a few close duals to some very tough teams but overall wrestled really well. Top wrestlers were Matt Pennings who finished undefeated on the day with three pins, and put his overall record at 32 and 0, Aaron Wercheck , Pat DeWane and Mark VandenAvond who all went 4 and 1, with Mark’s only loss coming by one point to the #1 ranked wrestler in the state at his weight class. Great job guys!
At the Appleton West JV tournament, the team had three first place finishers and three seconds. Taking first place was Cody Hallam, Luis Alavez, and Josh Romero.
This Thursday the team wrestles Ashwaubenon in what should be at exciting home dual! Come and watch the action!
