Locker Cleanout
Starting today, garbage cans will be available for locker cleanout. Please have your locker completely cleaned out and all books returned to the LMC by your last final exam. Textbooks that are not returned will result in a fine that will be assessed at the replacement cost of the book.

ACT Test Prep Course

UW- Oshkosh is offering an ACT Test Prep Course on Saturdays August 29 – October 10, 2009. Students will be provided 12 hours of instruction in the four content areas; take an official retired ACT test, be introduced to the new essay component of the Act test, and more. The Fee is $179. Registrations accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Applications available in the Career Center.

New to WI this year is the ACT test. It will take place in September of 2009 at Southwest High School. See counselor for further information.

The school store is holding a school supply drive.
As you clean out your locker – DO NOT throw out any of your un-used supplies. Bring it to the school store for a chance to win a variety of prizes.

Attention all girls Varsity and JV Soccer players.

There will be a short meeting today after school to turn in your uniforms and equipment. Meet in the hallway outside of the gym. If you can’t be at the meeting, you will need to see Mr. Anderson during the day today to make other arrangements or you will be charged for your gear.

Sign up sheets for summer events will be in student services until the end of today! If you are interested in helping out with Link Crew summer committee day or summer registration, sign up in student services TODAY! Remember, you will get credit for a Link Crew event for helping out, and this is a great way to demonstrate what kind of leader you want to be!

Attention anyone who uses either the Phy Ed or athletic team locker rooms.
If you have any items in any of our school locker rooms, you need to remove it today. All lockers will be cleaned out and remaining items will be thrown away or given to Goodwill. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Attention: Track and field athletes
If you have not turned in your uniforms, please do so today.

Pre-Participations Exams
Bellin Health is offering Pre-Participation Exams to all student-athletes who will participating in a sport at Preble High School next year. This event is open to any athletes who needs a WIAA Pre-Participation Exam. Physicals will be done at Preble High School on June 11th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Sign up will be in the main office. Physical forms are also available in the office and will need to be signed by a parent and brought to the doctor on June 11th. The cost is $20.00 and will be donated back to Preble High School.

Boys Tennis

Boys tennis players should turn in their uniforms by the end of the day tomorrow. Uniforms should be placed in a bag with your name on and turned into Mrs. Weuve in Room 245.

Cheerleaders

There will be a short meeting for all cheerleaders Monday at 3:30 in room 265. All are asked to attend.

To students with parking passes
Just a reminder to students with Parking Passes – As per # 5 of the Parking Permit Guidelines, There will be NO refund and tags do not need to be returned.

ACT Test Prep

Family 5k Fun Run
Do you want to help provide scholarships for Preble students? Come participate in the 5K Family Fun Run in memory of Jared Gehm. You can pick up a form in the office.

Preble Girls Basketball Program will be hosting a Burger and Brat Fry on June 12 at Copps East on Main Street. Stop by and support the girls basketball program

Boys Tennis
Results from the boys state tennis meet are in. At #1 singles, Bobby McDonald lost in the first round to Eau Claire Memorial, 6-1, 6-1. At #1 doubles, the team of Andrew McDonald and Connor Dougherty won their first round over Verona, 6-3, 0-6, 10-7. Andrew and Connor move on to face Brookfield East this morning.

Any boys tennis players that have not turned in uniforms, please place them in a bag with your name on and return to Mrs. Weuve in Room 245. Uniforms need to be turned in by Monday.

Preble Girls Basketball Program will be hosting a Burger and Brat Fry on June 12 at Copps East on Main Street. Stop by and support the girls basketball program.

The Preble Lady Hornet Basketball Booster Club is holding a Golf Outing on Sat. June 27th at Royal Scot Country Club to raise funds to support the program. Students interested in playing can pick up registration forms in the Main Office. Teachers and Staff can pick up forms in the Teachers Lounge. Come out and support your Lady Hornets!!

Cross Country
Attention those interested in joining the 2009 Preble Cross Country Team:
There will be an informational meeting for the boys TODAY at 3:15 in room 264 (health room). Whether you are a veteran runner or brand new to the sport of distance running the meeting will help answer any questions about the upcoming season. We need as many boys out for the team as possible, there are no cuts from the team and everyone participates in every meet. Be a part of a great group of young people and join the ongoing tradition of Preble Cross Country!!!

There will be a meeting for all Preble Football Players Wednesday, June 3, at 3:15, in the Preble Auditorium. Make arrangements to be at the meeting. Also, our football camp applications were due on Friday. If you plan on attending our camp, please bring your camp application and fee to our meeting.

Attention all Soccer fans!

Congratulations to the Regional Champion Preble Hornets. The Soccer team defeated Shawano 5 - nil on Friday evening and came back Saturday morning to defeat Plymouth 1-nil on a goal by Kathleen VanLieshout assisted by Karli Wagner. Goalkeeper Taylor Wueve recorded both shutouts.
Preble now moves on to Sectional action against Bay Port. The game will be played Thursday evening at Bay Port.

Math Lab

Starting today, June 1, the math lab will be restricted to students with tests and/or quizzes and those students with a pink pass from their math teacher. All other students should report to their study halls.

Sting Cancer

Attention Sting Cancer kids who were unable to attend our final meeting for the year last week!

There are two opportunities to help out a couple of organizations this summer:
- Riah’s Rainbow Charity at the Suamico Solstice Celebration June 20 and 21
– and the Families of Children with Cancer’s Rainbow Classic Walk/Run July 25.

Please go to the upstairs teacher workroom 236 and look on the outside of the window there at the door. You can sign up if you would like to be called to help out. There is also contact information plus brochures for the Rainbow Classic for you to take.

Remember: Cancer never takes a vacation without some help, so during your vacation find a few minutes to help those affected with cancer.

Track and Field
The WIAA Track and Field Sectional competition brought together some of the best teams in the state Friday night. Our men’s team fought a tough battle and ended up with their biggest win of the season by defeating the other 16 teams. The margin compared to the runner up was a 2 point difference.


Between our girls and boys teams, Preble also advanced 20 athletes to the state track and field meet in LaCrosse at the end of the week. Congratulations to these athletes and good luck representing us at state.

Attention all track and field athletes.
Your awards banquet is tomorrow night. If you missed the deadline and still plan on attending, see coach Prochnow immediately. Also, please turn in your uniform and clean out your locker. All remaining equipment will be given to Goodwill.
