Attention all Spanish Club members:
The meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled. We will meet next week Wednesday, October 28 instead.
Sting Cancer
Attention All Sting Cancer students that are going to be helping with the raking after school Thursday (after the meeting) should remember to bring their rakes & work gloves to school on Thursday if they aren't going to be able to run home before going to help.
Rakes can be brought to Mrs. Kubichek’s (Room 243) and should have the student's name somehow written on the handle.
Remember if it rains the raking expedition will be postponed. See everyone at the meeting.
Attention Link Crew Leaders:
We still need many of you to turn in your blue co-curricular participation form. Drop them off with one of the advisors or in the basket in the main office. Without this form, you will be unable to participate in any Link Crew activities or to earn your service hours for Link Crew. Even if you turned in a co-curricular form for another activity, you still must turn one in for Link Crew.
We have confirmed a time for the Leader Conference at Southwest High School on Nov. 5th. We will leave Preble at approximately 9:30 and return at around 2:45. Because this is a shortened WKCE testing day, you will miss all of your classes on that day if you attend. Please talk to your teachers about a possible absence. Listen to future announcements for more information.
COOL FOR SCHOOL JEANS DRIVE
Fox Communities Credit Union is sponsoring “COOL FOR SCHOOL JEANS DRIVE.” Your jeans will be donated to Preble’s very own clothes closet, “The Hive.” For each pair of jeans you donate from Oct.12th-16th you will receive 5 raffle tickets towards our Fall Promotion Gift Baskets!”
Environmental Club
The environmental club will be meeting tomorrow after school in room 218. Please come dressed to go outside.
Halloween Dance
It is that time of year again for the Dance Team’s annual Halloween Dance. It is Friday, October 23 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. If you plan on bringing a friend from another school you need to have a non-student form filled out and returned to the office by Thursday, October 22. Tickets sales will begin Monday, October 19 until Friday, October 23 during the lunch hours. Tickets will be $7.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door.
NYC Trip
Start spreading the news, we’re leaving in June! That’s right you’ve heard about the Preble School Trip to New York City! We will overtake the Big Apple next June to celebrate the end of the school year.
Although the date seems far away, the sign-up deadlines are quickly approaching! Look for posters advertising the trip around school and stop by Mr. Marcelle’s or Mr. Abts’ room to sign up today!
Attention Student Council members!
Please stop into Room 200 today to vote for your choice of clothing for this year. The top vote-getter will be the choice, and order forms will be available tomorrow. All clothing orders will be due next Wednesday, October 28 so that we get our order in time for the Fall Conference.
Girls Basketball
There will be a meeting for any girls intersted in participating in basketball this season on Oct 21 at 3:15 in Room 265. All grades welcome.
Wrestling
Wrestling season is starting up soon. Your Preble wrestling team has been one of the most successful teams in the high school the last 5 years. Our team record last year was 19 wins and 4 losses. We won two regular season championships and just missed winning conference and regional titles. For that success to continue we need as many students as possible to come out for wrestling. We believe that wrestling makes you a better athlete overall and gives you quickness and strength that is helpful in almost any other sport. Out team does not cut wrestlers and we do not make you cut weight. You will get in shape though!
All students interested in wrestling please come to the wrestling meeting on Thursday immediately after school in the boys locker room. This meeting will take just five minutes, you will be signing up and receiving information on our Lambeau Field seat pick up. Athletes in other fall sports need to come as well, it will be very short, and you will not be late for practice. Students under 115 pounds and over 200 pounds are especially encouraged to come out because we are short on those areas. See you Thursday after school! Coach McGrath
