ASVABAn officer from the Military Entrance Processing Station will be at Preble Tuesday, October 27th, to administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or ASVAB. The ASVAB helps you to identify your different abilities and allows you to compare your test performance to that of other students at your grade level. Your scores on this assessment can qualify you for certain jobs and training in the Armed Forces. The length of this exam is approximately 3.5 hours.
Juniors and seniors, if you are interested in taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, please sign up in the Career Center by the end of the day, and pick up an information booklet. The ASVAB will be administered in room 107 at 7:30 a.m. sharp. Please bring two No. 2 pencils with you. The location and time is posted outside the Student Services Office.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday October 6th at 7:00 in the auditorium.
Please come prepared to complete the Code of Conduct form. Officers will be introduced and our first activity will be planned.

For all students interested in joining the marketing club called DECA: We are having our 2009 KICK OFF party next Monday night at 5:15 PM.

NWTC
Gema Garcia, college representative from NWTC for the ELL population will be in the Career Center today from noon – 3:00pm. Ell students interested in meeting with her are welcomed to stop in the Career Center during their lunch/study hall. Gema will answer questions/concerns regarding transition to college. She is also will to assist with applications.
Girls Golf
The Girls Golf team qualified for sectionals yesterday by finishing 2nd at the WIAA Regional held at Thornberry Creek.
Leading the hornets was Olivia Lindsley in 4th place with an 89. Other Preble scores:

The team travels to Ledgeview next Tuesday for the WIAA Sectional.

Don’t miss tonight’s girls’ volleyball match when your first-place Hornets take on Sheboygan South. Freshmen and JV begin at 5:30pm with the varsity starting around 7pm.

The Science, Math, And Rational Thinking club will be holding a meeting after school tomorrow, October 2. We will be discussing possible future projects. Everyone is welcome. Set your sights on deeper understanding and join the Science, Math And Rational Thinking club this Friday at 3:10 in Mr. Sindberg’s room, Rm. 229.
Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team began conference tournament play yesterday, with each player winning two of three matches. The tournament concludes after school today as the team works to overtake DePere for third place in the conference.
Molly Hemes Brooke Weyenberg, and the doubles team of Taylor Weuve/Mimi Nguyen and Joselyn Robertson/Madeline Baretta will be playing for third place at East High School.
Lauren Seidl and the doubles team of Emily Griswold/Cassie Hendricks will be playing for fifth place at West High School.
