MAC ScholarsMAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the back of the LMC by The Career Center

“A Night to Remember” High School is stressful enough, do you want to go to homecoming or prom but can’t seem to find an affordable dress. Consider us your fairy godmothers; “A Night to Remember” is here to help girls find dresses who financially can’t afford a dress.

If you or somebody you know is unable to afford the formal attire for homecoming or prom, please contact any of the school social workers in Student Services. All referrals will be kept confidential.

Asian Club:
Asian Club will meet from 3:05 to 4:00pm. The meetings will be held every Thursdays. Come to room 149 right after school.

See Mrs. Thao in Student Services if interested in joining or show up at the meeting after school in room 149 from 3:05 to 4:00pm.

Environmental Club
Hey, Preble! Do you like getting dirty for a good cause? Then come out to help Preble’s EC to remove invasive species from the school forest. You will be helping the environment and be able to get service hours for your commitment. Come join us tomorrow after school in room 216 and be dressed for work.

FCCLA
A reminder to all FCCLA students- There is a meeting today in room 137 at 3:05. New members are welcome.

Fishing Club
The Preble Fishing club will hold it’s first meeting of the school year Thursday September 24th at 7am in room 228. New members are always welcome. See Mr. Valley if you have any questions.

FFA Brat Fry
Friday is the annual FFA brat and burger fry on danz ave. Brats/cold soda and sizzling burgers with your friends during the lunch hours. Hope to see you there.

Girls Volleyball
Come support the girls volleyball team as they host Pulaski tonight. Freshmen and JV matches begin at 5:30. Varsity, which is currently receiving votes in the state rankings, will begin around 7pm. Students can stop by the concessions stand for deals on SWARM t-shirts.

Girls Golf
On Friday, the girls golf team finished 3rd in the ten team Green Bay Metro Meet led by Olivia Lindsley with a third place finish.

On Saturday the team finished 6th in the 20 team Appleton West invite led by Olivia Lindsley 84 and Alex Wolf 88.

And yesterday they finished 9th in the 16 team Notre Dame Invite led by Alex Wolf’s 92.

Green Bay United Hockey
There is going to be an informational meeting for any boys interested in playing Green Bay United Hockey on Thursday, Sept 24, 2009 at Cornerstone Community Ice Center at 6:30 p.m.

Here is the Homecoming news….
1 – Today’s hall hunt is paper cow heads. Find one in the halls and bring it to the Main Office for a prize.
2 – Tomorrow’s dress up day is Retro day and the hall hunt will be peace signs.
3 – Students who wish to be placed on the Homecoming Court ballot must return intent-to-run forms to the Main Office by noon today.
4 – We are in need of vehicles to drive court members in Friday’s parade. If you can provide a vehicle with an adult driver, please get a parade application in the Main Office.
5 – Homecoming Dance tickets are on sale in the Commons during lunch hours. They are $10 each. Remember that all current non-Preble students need a guest pass form completed in order to get a ticket.
6 – Student Council members are needed to build decorations all week in Room 200. Please report during your free time.
7-Any girls interested in participating in the powderpuff football are reminded to sign up in the main office. There also will be an informational meeting after school today at 3:05 in the Commons.

Boy's Volleyball
The varsity boy’s volleyball team lost to Appleton North last night 10-25, 25-17, 10-25, and 17-25. Shane Heyrman had 13 kills and Alex Falish had 21 assists.
The Preble/East JV Boy’s Volleyball team lost 3 games against Appleton North last night. The scores were 23-25, 22-25 and 12-25.

Clinical Laboratory Science Young Scholar Program
Marquette University if offering a Clinical Laboratory Science Young Scholar Program on their campus beginning Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to earn one college credit. Registration deadline is Oct. 9. Cost of the program is $75. Registration form available in the Career Center.

NWTC
NWTC is offering a College Prep Language Arts class to minority junior and senior students. Classes will be held at the Atonement Lutheran Church (across the street from Preble) Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15 – 5:15 p.m. Classes run from Oct. 12 – May 6, 2010. This is a free class designed to help college-bound minority students gain a more advanced knowledge of the English language, write better essay papers, and prepare them to enter a university or technical college. Further information in the Career Center.

PAC
With a $629 billion defense bill heading for the Senate floor, Washington woke up to headlines Monday warning of “mission failure” if more U.S. troops aren’t committed to Afghanistan. The Political Awareness will meet on Wednesday after school in Room 105 to discuss this and other issues. New members are always welcomed

S.A.A.D
The first meeting of S.A.D.D. (Students against Destructive Decisions) will be held at 3:00 on Tuesday, September 22 in Room 206. Everyone is welcome to join.

Spanish Club
Spanish club is for any student who wants more opportunities to learn about Hispanic customs and cultures. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday. Our first meeting is Wed. September 23rd at 3:05 in room 221. Please see Señorita Fisher with any questions.

Homecoming Dance
Students if you are planning on bringing a non Preble student to Homecoming you will need to pick up a guest application form in the main office. Forms are due back Sept. 24. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Petitjean.

The Wisconsin Education Fair
The Wisconsin Education Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 30th at St. Norbert College in the Schuldes Sports Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for Junior and Senior students to meet individually with over 100 representatives from universities, colleges, technical and cosmetology schools, and military branches. Representatives will provide information regarding college applications and requirements, financial aid, housing etc.
