Homecoming
The results of Homecoming Court nominations are completed. Any student who is listed may take the opportunity to run for Court by picking up and completing an intent-to-run run, found in the Main Office. Forms will be due by noon on Tuesday next week. The nominees are:

Jack Drankoff Preble Community 5k
Let’s get fired up‼ The 2009 homecoming activities start in less than 24hours. Let’s make this the best homecoming that Preble has ever seen. To get things off to a great start make sure you come out tomorrow morning and join your friends, family, school staff, and the community doing the Jack Drankoff Preble Community 5k. You can still sign up in the office today or just show up tomorrow morning and sign up in the old gym. For $20 you will get a great t-shirt, the knowledge that you are helping raise money for charity, and a chance to will a trophy. It is suppose to be a beautiful morning, so come on out and participate. The gun will go off to start everything at 9 AM sharp so don’t be late.
Red Cross Blood Drive
Attention potential blood donors! Our blood drive will be held this coming Monday in the Auditorium from 8:00 until 1:30. We have handed out over 300 appointment forms, but have only received about 10 back! If you plan to make an appointment, you MUST hand this form into the Main Office TODAY or see the sign-up table in the Commons during lunch hours. The Red Cross needs your help‼‼
Preble Buzz Buzz staff members: all articles except sports are due Mon. Sept 21. We will meet in room 132 immediately after school and work on our articles, either writing or editing them. All editors need to be present .
Cross Country
Last evening the boys and girls Cross Country teams participated in the annual Green Bay City Meet at Colburn Park. The boy’s varsity took home their 11th consecutive city title by holding off some very tough competition. Scoring for the boys were: Matt VandeHei-2nd, Quinn Englebert- 4th , and Ian Mosbrucker-7th. The second team varsity also took home the city crown by placing 6 in the top 9. Placing for the Hornets were: Jesse Pfaff- 1st, Lance Gauger- 3rd and Bobby VandenAvond- 6th.
The Division 1 state ranked girl’s squad upended rival Notre Dame on their way to their 3rd straight city title. Leading the way for the lady hornets were: Jill Englebert- 1st, Lauren Orfield- 3rd and Kaitlyn Soukup- 6th. The second team girls also won the team title with a dominating performance. Scorers were: Kim Drewiske- 1st, Jessica Zimonek- 3rd and Taylor VandenPlas- 4th.
Congratulations Cross Country runners on sweeping the titles at this year’s highly competitive city meet!!!
Freshman Dance
Looking for a fun way to start the weekend? Looking for something to do after the football game ends? Want to see Mr. Kline dance to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story?” Link Crew would like to invite you to the annual Freshman Dance tonight from 8:00 – 11:00 in the small gym. Admission is $5.00 at the door with your student ID. Come at 8:00 or whenever the football game ends. Refreshments and prizes will be given out. See a Link Crew Leader if you have any questions.
Girl's Volleyball
Congratulations to the girls varsity volleyball team for their huge win over De Pere last night. The Hornets swept the Redbirds 25-18, 25-21, 27-25 to improve to 13-0. The volleyball team, which is receiving votes in the state rankings, plays at home next Tuesday against Pulaski.

Locker Announcement
Please make sure you put a lock on your locker. Beginning next week Tuesday, September 22, any locker without a lock will have a backwards lock placed on it and be re-assigned to another student. Again, please put a lock on your locker by Tuesday of next week. Thank you.
Pair and Spare
Did you know that new socks and underwear are among the most requested and least donated items at thrifts stores? When faced with a limited budget that must go for food, shelter, or medicine, socks and underwear are last on the list for those in need. In response to this need, there is an initiative occurring in Brown County “Pair and Spare” to encourage donation of these items to be distributed to families in need. The Green Bay Area Schools are participating in this effort and our families will receive a large quantity of the donated items. Please consider donating to this cause to support families at Preble. Donation boxes are located in the library and the main office.
PSAT
The PSAT test is offered to college bound sophomores and juniors who would like to practice for college admission tests and gain feedback about their academic strengths and weaknesses. The test will be offered at Preble October 14th periods 1-3 in the LMC. The cost is $13.00. Registration begins in the Career Center on Wednesday, September 23rd for any interested students.
Students against Destructive Decisions
The first meeting of S.A.D.D. (Students against Destructive Decisions) will be held at 3:00 on Tuesday, September 22 in Room 206. Everyone is welcome to join.
Science, Math, And Rational Thinking
The Science, Math, And Rational Thinking discussion group will be holding its first meeting after school today. We will discuss upcoming events and investigate some puzzles. Everyone is welcome. Launch into a voyage of discovery and join the Science, Math And Rational Thinking group today at 3:10 in Mr. Sindberg’s room, Rm. 229.
Spanish Club
Spanish club is for any student who wants more opportunities to learn about Hispanic customs and cultures. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday. Our first meeting is Wed. September 23rd at 3:05 in room 221. Please see Señorita Fisher with any questions.

Yesterday, the varsity tennis team posted a dominating win over Green Bay East, 7-0. The junior varsity continued the run with a 9-0 victory. Congratulations ladies. The tennis team travels to Sheboygan South next Tuesday.
