Additional Scholarship available in the Career Center is:
-American Society of Civil Engineers Scholarship – This is a $1,000 scholarship. Applicant must plan to enroll full-time in a civil engineering curriculum in the fall of 2009. This application is due this week May 20th. Interested students should stop in the Career Center for further information.

DVDs of the spring play Disco Fever are available.

You may pick up a form in room118 or 247 and order a DVD for only $30. Disco Fever DVD orders are due this Wednesday, May 20.

Forensics Team Officers and Officers at Large, there will be an important meeting in Rm 118 immediately after school today to prepare for the banquet.

Girls Volleyball

Reminder to all girls interested in volleyball that there will be open gym tonight at 7pm.

Grad Night Splatacular
A SPLATACULAR POST Graduation party is being held in honor of YOU…YES ….YOU the class of 2009!
Your personal invite and registration form should have arrived at home via snail mail. If not, registration forms are in the MAIN OFFICE.

Pre-registered 09’ers qualify for additional prizes! Place your pre-reg form and money into the special Splatacular Box in the Main office!

SWARM the party at Edison after graduation June 5th around 10:00pm and leave at 2:30am with SPLATACULAR memories and great prizes!

Boys Tennis

Last Saturday the Boys Varsity Tennis team defeated Wausau East 6 - 1, Kimberly
6-1 and Appleton West 5 - 2. Singles winners were: Bobby McDonald, Danny Fitchett, Jaren Sternard, John VandenHouten, Mason Matilla, and Shane Heyrman. Doubles winners were: Connor Dougherty & Andrew McDonald, Matt Nockerts & Aron Stumbras, Jordan Weuve & Jacob Vandevelde

Attention students chosen to be next year’s Link Crew leaders:

Remember that this Wednesday during 7th and 8th hours is May Day to welcome you into Link Crew and get you ready for this summer and next year. This meeting is mandatory if you want to participate in Link Crew so check with your teachers to see if you need to make up any work. We will be meeting in the Small Gym at the start of 7th hour unless the weather is bad, in which case we will only be meeting for 8th hour—listen Wednesday for a specific announcement. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and arrive on time. See Ms. Rowe, Ms. Nelson, or Mr. Yonts with questions or concerns.

LMC
Monday the LMC is closed hour 3 and limited hours 5 and 7.

Pre-Participations Exams
Bellin Health is offering Pre-Participation Exams to all student-athletes who will participating in a sport at Preble High School next year. This event is open to any athletes who needs a WIAA Pre-Participation Exam. Physicals will be done at Preble High School on June 11th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Sign up will be in the main office. Physical forms are also available in the office and will need to be signed by a parent and brought to the doctor on June 11th. The cost is $20.00 and will be donated back to Preble High School.

Project Respect

Mr. Nez’s and Mrs. Nusbaum’s SS classes are bringing Project Respect here to Preble. In the upcoming weeks you will be hearing announcements and seeing posters and t-shirts around school about the SWARM idea. SWARM stands for “Some words are really mean”. Students and staff will soon be able to buy shirts to support the SWARM cause.

Remember, black or white, gay or straight, fast or slow, we are all 99.9% the same.

Rendezvous Show Choir

Congratulations to the Rendezvous Show Choir for bringing home the third title this season for Preble Show Choirs. They won 1st place at the Cedar Point Show Choir Competition in Sandusky, Ohio over the weekend. Lauren Honold was also named the outstanding vocalist of the competition. Congratulations to our show choirs on an outstanding season!!

Spring Fling Car Show

The Preble FFA is having their 10th annual Spring Fling car show on Friday, May 22. This years classes are Import, Truck, Motorcycle, Stock, Domestic, Junker, Classic, and Mom and Dad. If you are still interested in participating in the car show, there are still entry forms available in room 187. Deadline for all entries are due on May 20th. Come and enjoy the great fun we have in store for you.

Are you at least 17 years of age and looking for summer employment?

The Summer Youth Employment Program in NE WI will provide selected youth with a short-term training opportunity that will result in a certification and a stipend if they successfully complete the program. The Job Center is assisting in the process by gathering screening information for the program. Those interested in applying for the Summer Youth Employment Program should stop in the Career Center to pick up the Workforce Investment Act Screening Document.

Today you should be wearing neon. In color terms, neon refers to any very bright color, but in scientific terms, what is neon? Here is your chance to show your knowledge of science. Listen to the following trivia questions and place your answer in the Main Office Spring Fling trivia box for a chance to win a prize: Today’s trivia questions is: What is NEON? Is is A - a liquid, B - a solid, or C - a noble gas? Enter to win! Tomorrow’s dress up day is sports jersey day and the hall hunt will be paper sports jerseys.


Blood Drive

Thank you to all students and staff who donated blood on Friday. We fell just short of our goal of 105 pints with a successful total of 99 pints. Anyone who would like to donate blood this summer should check with the American Red Cross for dates and events. Raffle winners will receive prizes later today.
