Additional Scholarship available in the Career Center is:
-American Society of Civil Engineers Scholarship – This is a $1,000 scholarship. Applicant must plan to enroll full-time in a civil engineering curriculum in the fall of 2009. This application is due this week May 20th. Interested students should stop in the Career Center for further information.
Track and Field
Congratulations to our men’s track and field team on winning the FRCC conference JV cross over meet last night by over 100 points.
Preble earned 11 first place finishes and numerous other places.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet again this Sunday and take the final count for the Brewer game on May 30th. Students, coaches and staff are invited. Registration must be in by Sunday or by contacting Kevin Griswold.

Friday, the LMC is limited hours 5 and 7 and closed hours 6 and 8.
Soccer
Last night the Preble Soccer Hornets defeated Pulaski 3-0. Preble was led by Kasey VanderWeegen with a goal and an assist. Other goals were scored by Kathleen VanLieshout and Karli Wagner. Goalkeeper Taylor Weuve recorded 4 saves in earning the shutout. JV also defeated Pulaski 4-0.
The next game for both Varsity and JV is tomorrow at Germantown.
Golf
Trevor Quass shot an even par 36 and Tom Boockmeier a one over par 37 to lead the Hornet varsity golf team over Sheboygan South in a meet held at Whistling Straits.
The JV golfers also took first and were led in scoring by Payne Quass who shot a 40 and Phil Lemke with a 41.
Monday May 18th academic awards will be given out to
10th Graders 2nd hour
12th Graders 3rd hour
Students should report to class first and will be released via intercom to the Auditorium.
Remaining Seniors will be dismissed via intercom after the 12th grade awards for a graduation instruction meeting.
There is a list posted outside the auditorium of all students who will be receiving awards. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Petitjean in the main office.
Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland
Preble is one of only 9 schools in the state of Wisconsin to have ever been chosen by the American High School theatre Festival committee to perform in the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland It is a once in a lifetime event for these outstanding young performers. If you or your parents were not able to attend the meeting last night and are interested in knowing more about this incredible opportunity, stop in Room 118 and pick up the information from Mrs. Miller today.
Red Cross Bloodmobile
This is a reminder that the Red Cross Bloodmobile is taking place today in the old gym. Walk-in appointments can be taken. Students must have a photo ID with birthdate or a donor card. Students who are first-time donors will receive a T-shirt. There will also be give-ways for movie passes and donor bracelets. The last appointments will be taken during period 7.
Seniors!
If you plan to attend Senior Ball you must purchase your ticket today. They are on sale from Mrs. Marshall all day at the Blood drive and also in the Commons during lunch hours. We must make reservations after school today, so don’t forget to take care of this important matter for this fun event.
Seniors: You are running out of time to vote for the best legs in your class. The senior survey will be available through the Preble website until the end of this weekend, May 18, 2009. Do not delay. Choose the person most likely to take over the world.
Are you at least 17 years of age and looking for summer employment?
The Summer Youth Employment Program in NE WI will provide selected youth with a short-term training opportunity that will result in a certification and a stipend if they successfully complete the program. The Job Center is assisting in the process by gathering screening information for the program. Those interested in applying for the Summer Youth Employment Program should stop in the Career Center to pick up the Workforce Investment Act Screening Document.

The boys vasity tennis team defeated Ashwaubenon last night 7-0 Singles winners were: Bobby McDonald, Danny Fitchett, Jaren Sternard, and John VandenHouten. Doubles winners were; Connor Dougterty & Andrew McDonald, Matt Nockerts & Aron Stumbras, JordanWeuve & Jacob Vandevelde.
The JV boys tennis team defeated Ashwaubenon 7-2 singles winners were: Shane Heyrman, Mason Matilla, and Daniel Ullmer. Doubles winners were: Brad Johnson & Ka Lee, Neil Ropson & Aaron Drosert, Sam Katers & Gus Santillan, and Tanner Keim & A J Kempke. Kari, Also I just got the information yesterday about the JV conference tournament which will be held all day Monday May 18th in Sheboygan. So the following players will be out of school all day on Monday: Shane Heyrman, Mason Matilla, Daniel Ullmer, Brad Johnson, Ka Kee, Alex Webster, Sovann Khong, Neil Ropson, Aaron Drossart, David Delvaux, Collin Marshall, Sam Katers, Augustine Santillan, Tanner Keim, A J Kempke, and Taylor Ryan.
