Additional scholarships available in the Career Center are:
-International Society of Automation – Applicant may pursue any engineering, technological, or science course of study earning either an associate or bachelors degree.

-Neptune Scuba Diving Scholarship – Applicant may be between the ages of 12-18 years. Applicant must write an essay telling about your desire and interest in becoming a scuba diver.

-Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship – Applicant must be entering their senior year in the Fall of 2009. Applicant must have a “B” average and participate in at least one of the 28 school-sponsored sports listed in the application.

FCCLA State Leadership Conference

On Monday, April 20th, several Preble students competed in STAR events at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference at the Kalahari Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells. Congratulations to the following students:
-Yer Xiong won a gold medal for her Teach and Train portfolio and became the National Qualifier to represent Wisconsin at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference to be held in Nashville Tennessee in July. Congratulations Yer!


-Jennifer Rabas won a gold medal for her Focus on Children Project and became the National Qualifier to represent Wisconsin at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference as well. Congratulations Jennifer!

-Jennie Collins and Mallory Woelfel won a bronze medal for their Life Planning Event Portfolio. Congratulations Jennie and Mallory!

-Ted Willette and Jazmin LaPlante won silver medals for their performance in the Culinary Arts Competition. Congratulations Ted and Jazmin!

All of these students should be commended for their hard work and dedication to FCCLA!

Girls Soccer
Congratulations to the Preble Soccer Hornets. Last night the ladies defeated Ashwaubenon 2-1. Emily Young scored the game winning goal off a direct kick seven minutes into overtime. The Hornets other goal was scored by Sierra Valentine with an assist by Kayla Kawula. Taylor Weuve had 6 saves for Preble. The next game is tomorrow evening at Manitowoc.

This Saturday April 25th is Global Youth Service Day.
Help us show the power of Youth! From 10-2:00, the Latino Club and The Do Something club will be helping Heritage Hill get ready for their spring programs. There are also opportunities at the NEW Zoo, Botanical Gardens, New Community Shelter so PLEASE see Mr. Baudhuin in Room 210 or Mrs. Bossel in the career center to sign up.

Link Crew
Students who attended one of the Link Crew informational meetings need to turn in their applications for Link Crew by this Friday at the end of the day. You can turn them in in the office or to one of the advisors.

Current Link Crew Leaders remember that you must be wearing your Link Crew shirt to be in the pictures today.

PAC
Political Awareness Club will meet on Wednesday after school in Room 105. WFRV (Channel 5) will be at our meeting to report on PAC’s efforts with the Honor Flights to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. . New members are always welcomed.

Pack Your Sack
It’s that time again! Pack your sack to help out Goodwill and the Salvation Army in their campaign to collect household items and clothing. First hour classes will be collecting from April 20th-24th, and your donations will help support those in need. Classes that donate the most items per student will receive a breakfast party! All items will be collected during first hour on Friday.

Seniors, are looking for ideas on how to complete your service hours?
Many service- learning opportunities are posted in the Career Center. Check it out. Remember you must meet the 24 hour requirement to be eligible to receive your diploma. If you feel you will not have the hours completed in time, please stop in the Career Center to complete a “service-learning plan.” This will allow you to attend the graduation ceremony. Once your hours have been completed, you will receive your diploma.

Volunteer Opportunity
Syble Hopp is in need of 6-8 volunteers to assist with decorations for the Prom this Saturday, April 25 at 9:00am. Duties consist mainly of using the air compressor to blow up balloons. Sign up in the Career Center.

The Unity Expo is just two days away!
All student coordinators should have handed in their planning sheets and be preparing for set-up after school, tomorrow, Thursday, in the small gym. We will be open for set-up tomorrow from 3 until 5 PM. Staff sponsors – please check in with your students to make sure they have appropriate exhibits set up.

United Colors of Preble
Students who joined the United Colors of Preble for the Winter Elementary program should report to the UCP photo today during Period 5.

German Club and Student Council
German Club and Student Council members should report for their yearbook photo during period 5 today.
