MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the back of the LMC by The Career Center
Yearbook
To all students interested in a 2009 yearbook: The deadline for ordering and paying through the yearbook company has passed. They will no longer accept your payment. Our deadline for giving the company our final numbers is this Thursday, no exceptions. If you still would like a 2009 yearbook, the cost is now $60 and can be ordered through Mrs. Sutton in Room 205 before or after school. After this Thursday, there is NO guarantee that we will have any extra books to sell to you next fall. Also, all orders that are only partial payments will be cancelled if the full payment is not received by Mrs. Sutton, not the company, by this Thursday. See Mrs. Sutton if you have any questions.
Art Street
Attention any students interested in helping out at Preble’s Art display at Art Street. There will be a meeting in Ms. Nooyen’s room on May 28th after school. Art Street is August 28, 29 and 30, 2009

Wear Bandana Day for Mrs. Sundstrom
Wear Bandana Day for Mrs. Sundstrom is on Thursday, April 30th. You are only able to wear teal and purple bandanas. It will cost $1.00 on April 30th to wear the bandana. There will be limited bandanas available during the lunch hours on Tuesday the 28th and Wednesday the 29th. The cost of bandanas will be donations only. All proceeds will go towards finding a cure for LMS.
Attention boys interested in playing volleyball:
There will be an open gym on Thursday April 30th at Preble from 6:30-8:30pm.
Chess Club
The Hornet Chess Club finishes its season and end-of-the-year tournament today at 3:00 in room 117. Congratulations to these Final Four students: Fred Dorn, Brandon Longton, Chad Prevost, and McKinley Meyer. All members should plan to attend, and any students interested in joining the chess club next year are also welcome.
Attention Soccer Fans
Last night in a battle of Goal Keepers, the Preble Lady Hornets battled Southwest through double overtime to a 0-0 tie. Taylor Weuve made 8 saves in recording the shutout for Preble.
The next game is Thursday evening at home against Sheboygan South. The JV game begins at 4:30 followed by Varsity at 6:30.
Girls Track Announcement
The Preble girls track and field team won the 5 team city meet last night at West High. The girls used their depth to out score Notre Dame.
First places finishes include Gina Gigot in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Kristen short in the discus, the 3200 relay consisting of Kaitlyn Soukup, Jordan Michels, Kali Cibula, and Steph Stock and the 400 relay of Emma Hendricks, Kayla Counard, Johanna Harris and Kaitlin Medenwald. Congratulations girls.
Boys Golf
Hornets take 4th at GBCC Invite
The Hornet varsity golf team placed 4th at the 11 team Green Bay Country Club Invite.
Tom Boockmeier tied for medalist honors with a 6 over par 78. Brandon Chaloupka finished tied for 8th with an 83.
Intra-City Student Council
The Green Bay Area School District is looking for students who are interested in running for the position of Preble representative for the Intra-City Student Council. This would be a position for NEXT school year. These representatives must make a commitment to attend meetings on Sunday evenings, on some weeknights, and some school day mornings. The intent-to-run form is now available in the Main Office and is due this Friday morning at 7:30.
The Culinary Arts Club
The Culinary Arts Club will be selling fresh squeezed lemonade and popcorn today outside the auditorium during all lunch periods.
Buy a 20 ounce cup of fresh squeezed lemonade for only $2.50 and receive a complimentary bag of popcorn. Popcorn may be purchased for only 75 cents.
All proceeds go towards service projects within our building!
Popcorn for Fines
A day like Wednesday April 29th only happens every few years. The LMC is going to accept microwave popcorn to clean up library fines. See the LMC window for details.
The Presidential Service Award
The Presidential Service Award will be awarded to students who have completed 100+ hours of service from May 1, 2008 – April 30, 2009. Recipients will receive a medal and certificate signed by President Obama for their service.
If you are one of these outstanding students, please submit your service forms to Mrs. Bossell in the Career Center by April 30th.
A list of students with 100+ hours has been posted on the wall outside of the Student Service office. Please check it over. If you feel your name has been omitted, please stop in the Career Center and speak with Mrs. Bossell.
This year, the Civic Engagement Award will be given to freshmen completing 25-99 service hours by April 30th. If there is a freshman that has completed 100+ hours, he/she will receive the Presidential Award.
Anyone who turns in service hours on or after May 1st will be able to use these hours toward the award the following year.
Seniors, graduation is quickly approaching.
As part of your graduation requirement, you must have 24 hours of service learning completed. Those who do not meet the requirement will not receive a diploma. Students needing hours are encouraged to stop in the Career Center for ideas on how to fulfill the requirement.
Attention all 3rd hour teachers and seniors:
Please have a student report to the commons with a count of your seniors to pick up the Senior Scholarship Survey. Please complete this during 3rd hour and then have a student return them at the end of the hour to Student Services. It is important that all seniors complete these surveys to the best of their knowledge, as we are in the planning process for this program.
PLEASE HAVE ALL OF THE FORMS RETURNED AS A GROUP BY THE END OF THE HOUR TO STUDENT SERVICES

There will be practice for all track and field athletes who were in last nights meet.
Last night our men’s track and field team won the Green Bay City meet for the 11th consecutive year. Our boys have now won the meet 19 of the last 21 years.
Tonight, our track team hosts the City JV meet at Prebles stadium. Events begin at 3:45. Come out and support your team.
