MAC Scholars
MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the back of the LMC by The Career Center

Yearbook

The finalized list of senior color photos received for the 2009 yearbook has been posted outside of Room 205 and by the auditorium. Students may also access this list by going to the J drive on the computer, opening the first folder – 09 Yearbook – opening the Excel file inside and clicking on Read Only when prompted for a password. If your name is NOT on this list, your yearbook photo has NOT been received. PLEASE check this list even if you believe that your photo was received. Many photos have come in from various sources and it is the student’s responsibility to check the list to be sure that a photo was indeed received. Over 60 photos were submitted via e-mail attachments, some of which got caught in the school’s spam filter. We have no way of knowing if your photo was “lost” in this way unless you check the list. See Mrs. Sutton immediately if you believe there is an error as we are beginning to lay out the senior pages. We do not want to leave anyone out unintentionally. You may still turn in “late” photos, but we can no longer guarantee that you will appear in alphabetical order in the senior color section.

Yearbook will be meeting this week on Tuesday and Thursday after school in Room 203 to work on layout. Experienced staff are welcome to come in and work after school on Wednesday and/or Friday as well. We have an important deadline to meet.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will continue to meet Wednesdays and Fridays after school in Room 205 for as long as there is interest in knitting for personal interest or for charity. You can continue to knit hats and mittens for Danz Elementary students in need or you can join us and learn how to knit a bear to be donated to African children whose lives have been affected by AIDS. Anyone is welcome to join us at any time. Service learning hours are also available.

Attention Link Crew Leaders!

Please plan to attend the whole group Link Crew meeting this Wednesday, January 7th at 7:00 am. We will be planning for Cocoa and Cram, and discussing the upcoming winter events.
If you cannot attend the meeting, but would like to help out with Cocoa and Cram see Mrs. Rowe, Mr. Yonts, or Ms. Nelson. Remember to wear your Link Crew T-shirt! See you Wednesday!

Attention: Students interested in a health career….

Aurora BayCare Medical Center will host a Health Career Exploration Day on Thursday, January 22, 2009. Students will have the opportunity to tour one of the following areas: radiology, surgery, labor & delivery, rehab services, sports medicine or pharmacy. Applications are available in the Career Center. Applications due by Wed., Jan. 14. Space is limited.

Attention Students:
Is theYMCA too busy? Are you tired of battling people for running space to stay in shape over the winter months? Then joining the 2009 Preble Running Club is a great idea. The Running Club participants share common goals such as staying in shape for a spring sport or just raising their overall fitness level. The Preble Running Club meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday immediately after school around the PE locker room area.

Book Club

Great news…we have decided to move the book club discussion to Thursday, January 22nd so that more of you have the opportunity to read the book “Twisted”. So, change your calendar and meet us for lunch in the LMC on Thursday, Jan. 22nd instead of the 8th.

Chess Club

The Hornet Chess Club will meet today from 3:00 until 4:00 in room 117.

Attention Language Arts Academic Team --
This is a reminder that we will meet tonight after school in Room 127 to watch and discuss Romeo and Juliet. Plan to stay until approximately 5:30 PM

PAC

The fighting in Gaza, problems with new appointments in the Obama administration, and possible new tax cuts will all be discussed at the Political Awarenss Club meeting on Wednesday right after school in Room 105. See you there.

Sting Cancer

Any students who have any remaining Raffle tickets for the Sting Cancer Beef Raffle are to return them to Mrs. Grobarchik by the end of the day TODAY!
Stop by room 112 with your money and raffle tickets.
