Veterans Day
When Francis Scott Key wrote the “Star Spangled Banner” almost 200 years ago, he called America, “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Those words are as true today as they were then.
Throughout this Nation’s history, America’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coastguardsmen have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to aid our friends and allies, and to turn back aggressors.
We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to the more than 650,000 American service members who died in battle or the 1.4 million who were wounded. We can, however, recognize and thank the 25 million veterans still living today.
Today is a day to honor all Veterans. Preble High School would like to honor our own:
· Mr. Al Pannier
· Mr. Matt Fellinger
· Mr. Mike Forrest
· Mr. Jim Rutkowski
· Mr. Scott Reeners
· Mr. David Quayle
· Mr. Russell Dern
· Mr. Bruce McLeod
Remember to thank these people for their service and thank those Veterans in your life today.

That Friday a table will be set up in front of Student Services to hand in any last minute money or books.

Are you collecting non-perishable foods for the Paul’s Pantry Food Drive? This week – all week – until 7:30 AM this Friday -- students and staff are being asked to donate to the Packers Women’s Association Food Drive. So far only TEN classes out of the hundreds that we have each day at Preble have agreed to participate. This is a chance for students and staff to work together to help people in our community. Please consider participating. If you would like to donate but your class does not, please drop your donations in the LMC before Friday morning. A small gesture on your part can mean a lot to someone you don’t know.

You must have a body composition test to wrestle. Open gyms this week are Monday and Wednesday after school in the wrestling room.
