Attention Sting Cancer Members:
Due to an important faculty meeting this Thursday, there will not be a Sting cancer meeting this week. However, student officer applications are still due Thursday. Also Nike clothing order forms are also due Thursday. Therefore anyone who has to turn in officer applications or Nike clothing order forms, can meet Mr. Nez in the LMC right after school at 3:00 and hand in order forms and officer applications.
Also, do not forget those of you who signed up to help out with the breast cancer evnt on Saturday, October 11th, do not forget to be there to fulfill your commitment. If you have any questions or concerns about Saturday, please see Mrs. Sundstrom.
Thanks, and don’t forget Mr. Nez will be in the LMC tomorrow to collect officer applications and Nike order forms.
Soccer
Congratulations to the boys Varsity Soccer team who defeated Pulaski last night 2-1. Alex Drabes scored both of the goals with an assist from Andrew Stone. The Hornets improved their record to 12-3-2 and remain in second place in the conference. The JV team also played and battled Pulaski to a 1-1 tie. Both Boys Soccer teams play at home tomorrow night against Green Bay West. Tomorrow is the last scheduled home game before the conference tournament and is also Senior night. Come out Thursday and support Hornet Soccer!
Boys Volleyball
The varsity boy’s volleyball team traveled to Appleton West last night and lost the first two games 25-8 and 25-18. After being down 24-18 in the third game, the team stormed back and won 27-25. The team then won game four 25-22 and lost a tough fifth game 15-8. The team was led by Andrew Torbenson with 6 kills, 13 assists, and 6 digs, Shane Heyrman with 7 kills and 11 digs. The boy’s volleyball teams will be hosting an invitational on Saturday with teams from Madison and the Milwaukee area playing. We hope to see you there.
NWTC
NWTC is sponsoring College Preview Night on Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The program includes information on admissions, financial aid, scholarships and more. Brochures available in the Career Center.

Friday, October 17th from 8 to 11 pm (after the football game)
Music provided by DJs Luis Franco, Josh Cooper, and Joey Bina
Come and dance the night away with glow sticks and strobe lights!
Dress code is casual – wear bright neon colors to light up the Rave!
Tickets will be sold during the lunch hours.
Tickets cost $5 in advance, $10 at the door.
Girls Golf
Yesterday, the girl’s golf team competed in the WIAA Sectional at Thornberry Creek finishing 5th with a team score of 374. Leading the Hornets were Lauren Lindsley 79, Olivia Lindsley 90, and Sammi VanEss 98.
Lauren Lindsley finished 2nd individually and qualified for the state competition next Monday and Tuesday. Congratulation and a great season and good luck Lauren!
Girls Volleyball
Congratulations to all 3 girls’ volleyball teams for earning their 6th consecutive conference wins by defeating Sheboygan South last night.
Thursday night will be the final home game for girls’ volleyball, as well as senior night. It is also the biggest match of the year as Preble hosts DePere; a win would move Preble into a second place tie in the conference. We are looking for a big SWARM in the bleachers Thursday night. Please come support the teams. Freshmen and JV begin at 5:30pm, with varsity beginning around 7pm.

Please remember to turn in your Leader Conference Permission Slips! We have very few permission slips turned in so far! There is a box in the main office. Remember, you cannot attend the conference on October 16th without turning in the permission slip! If you were unable to attend the whole group meeting, and did not get a permission slip, they will be available in the main office next to the turn-in box. Any questions see Mrs. Rowe, Mr. Yonts, or Ms. Nelson.

Wrestlers and everyone interested in going out for wrestling, there will be an open gym tonight after school from 3:15 to 5:00pm. The calendar dates for open gyms will be given out. The dates will also be posted in the glass case in the athletics hallway.

The second Presidential Debate took place last night in a town hall forum with the candidates John McCain and Barack Obama taking questions from the audience. Come join the lively discussion about the Tuesday night debate and other election news, at the Political Awareness Club on today right after school in Room 105 in Room 105.
