Mens Swim Team
Did you see Michael Phelps at the Olympics this summer? Did you ever think you could swim? Be a part of the First Green Bay United Men’s Swim team. Sign up in the main office if you are interested. An informational meeting will be held at a later date.

Boys Volleyball

Tonight is the final home match for the boy’s volleyball team. Come out and support your team as they take on Appleton East with the JV starting at 5:30 and the varsity to follow about 7:00. Tonight is senior night where we will honor our seniors Andrew Torbenson, Pat Benson, Xao Yang, and Rane Cegelski.

The Preble/East JV Boy's Volleyball Team lost 2 games out of 3 to Madison East Friday night. Austin Kerkhoff had 15 hits and Nathan Kinnard followed with 10. Come cheer us on for our last game tonight at 5:30 at Preble.

The Buzz
A reminder to all Buzz staff that articles for the next issue are due by Monday Oct. 27. Place your articles in the drop box or email them to the Buzz. We will be having a full staff meeting on Monday Oct 27, after school in room 132.

Cross Country

The boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to Colburn Park on Saturday to participate in the WIAA State Sectional meet. The boy’s team placed 3rd, narrowly missing a state meet appearance by 7 points. Advancing to the state meet was Matt VandeHei, who placed 5th overall. Also scoring for the Hornets were: Jim Zahn- 15th, Ian Mosbrucker- 18th, Ben Overeem- 24th and Quinn Englebert- 27th.

The girl’s team varsity placed 4th by totaling 121 points. Top individuals for the lady hornets were: Katelyn Smith- 16th, Lauren Orfield- 18th, Kaitlyn Soukup- 21st, Stephanie Stock- 32nd and Taylor Michels- 34th.

Congratulations to all runners on your efforts and thank you to all who came out to support our athletes on Saturday and throughout the year.

There will be an informational meeting for all boys and girls who participated in the sectional meet at 3:15 in the small gym.

Attention Link Crew Executive Board Members!

Due to the WKCE exam, our exec. board meeting has been switched from before school to after school on Wednesday, October 29th. Please plan to meet in Ms. Nelson’s room, 222, immediately after school on Wednesday for a brief, but important meeting. If you cannot attend you must see one of the coordinators!

Monday the LMC is closed hour 3 and limited hours 4, 6 and 8.

Congratulations to The Boys Varsity Soccer team. The Soccer Hornets defeated Kaukauna 3-0 on Saturday evening to claim the WIAA Regional Championship. Preble was led by Cesar Lopez who scored two goals and Matt Cormier who also scored a goal. The Hornets now move on to host the WIAA Sectional Semi-Final Thursday evening. The game will be at home against Bay Port and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Go Hornets!

The East/Preble Marlins girls swim team won their last dual meet against Southwest on Thursday night. Varsity score was 114 - 41. JV won every event. Varsity swimmers taking first place were:

Tickets for this year’s musical “All Shook Up” featuring the music of Elvis are officially on sale NOW!! They will be sold every day before and after school until opening night. If you want good seats be sure to get your tickets early and don’t miss this high energy rock n’ roll new musical comedy. Tickets are $10.



If you signed up to usher for “All Shook Up”. Remember to attend the training meeting at 3:15 today by the auditorium ticket booth. If you cannot attend the meeting, stop in room 247 sometime today for usher information.

The varsity boy’s volleyball team swept Madison East Friday night 25-16, 25-16, and 25-15.

Take a walk with the Preble Walking Club. Meet today by the LMC and we walk from 3:10-3:45. Plan to walk outside unless it is raining. All students and staff are welcome to join us.

Due to the election mailings, the bulk mailing with the WKCE information has not left the mail house. After announcements today – please go over the late start times for all 9th, 11th, and 12th graders. Thank you.

The 10th grade WKCE Reading test is tomorrow from 7:50 – 10:10am. All 10th graders need to report to your assigned rooms and bring a few #2 pencils to take the test. Room assignments are posted on the LMC windows and in the commons across from Student Services. Breakfast will be provided to all 10th graders free of charge in the commons. You must have your ID.

Wednesday is the math test. In addition to #2 pencils, 10th graders need to have a scientific calculator for the test. If you do not have one, please ask a friend to borrow one for that morning. If you absolutely cannot find one to borrow, you will need to let your test proctor know on Tuesday.

Busses will run at normal times. Period 1 starts tomorrow at 10:20am. We will still run a 1-8 schedule with shortened class periods.

If you are not a 10th grader and are in school during the testing, you will only be allowed in the commons. Bring any materials you may need – you will NOT be allowed to go to your lockers or talk to any teachers.
