Attention all Link Crew leaders.

Those of you who are in cross country CAN attend the Link Leader Conference at West high next Thurs. You WILL be back in plenty of time for your meet. We just ask that you bring a bag lunch.

Please get your permission slips in to the main office or to one of the advisors as soon as possible. Extra forms are in the main office next to the Link Crew box. Thanks! Any questions stop by and see Ms. Nelson in room 222.

Boys Soccer

Congratulations to the boys Varsity Soccer team who defeated Green Bay West last night 4-1. The Hornets were led by Senior Josh Bradley who collected 3 saves in the first half as a goalkeeper and then scored the last goal of the night for the offense. Sean Boulanger and Matt Cormier also scored goals. Erik Touschek contributed 2 saves. The JV team also played and defeated West 7-1. The Hornets travel to Wauwatosa West on Saturday and the next home game is Tuesday evening.

The Preble/East boy’s volleyball team will be hosting an invitational tomorrow in the Dessart Center. There will be 16 teams total and a lot of good volleyball to watch. We hope to see you there.

All staff members are required to be at the Buzz meeting on Monday Oct 13, in room 132 after school. We will be planning the next issue.

Announcement 10-10-08

The boys and girls Cross Country teams participated in the Fox River Classic Conference Eastern Divisional meet last evening at Colburn Park.
The girl’s varsity team placed 2rd out of 6 schools. Leading the way for the lady hornets were: Natalie Fay- 7th, Kaitlyn Soukup- 9th, Lauren Orfield- 10th and Stephanie Stock- 14th.
The boy’s varsity team took home the Eastern conference championship by placing 4 in the top 6. Leading the charge were: Jim Zahn- 3rd, Ian Mosbrucker- 4th, Matt VandeHei- 5th and Nick Molzahn- 6th.
The girls second team placed 1st and were paced by: Taylor Michels- 1st, India Pungarcher- 2nd, AJ Lardinois- 3rd and Nicole Kozlovsky- 6th.
The boy’s second team placed 4 in the top 5 on their way another victory. Leading the way for the boys were: Josh Haase- 2nd, Zach Peters- 3rd, Andrew McDonald- 4th and Kyle Furlong- 5th.

MAC Scholars presents: Rave Night at Preble

Friday, October 17th from 8 to 11 pm (after the football game)

Even though there is no school that day, we are ON for the dance that night!

Music will be provided by DJs Luis Franco, Josh Cooper, and Joey Bina

Come and dance the night away with glow sticks and strobe lights!

Dress code is casual – wear bright neon colors to light up the Rave!

Tickets will be sold during the lunch hours.

Tickets cost $5 in advance, $10 at the door.

Preble Walking Club will meet Monday after school from 3:10-3:45. Meet by the LMC ready to walk. All students and staff are welcome to join us.


The girls’ volleyball teams would like to thank the fans that turned out and did positive things to support us last night. Please congratulate the girls on their fantastic effort against DePere.

Link Crew Leaders- You only have a few more days to turn your Leader Conference permission slip in to the box in the main office! If you lost your original permission slip there are extras in the main office next to the turn-in box. Remember, you cannot attend the conference on October 16th without turning in the permission slip! You do not want to miss this, so get your permission slip in! The Culinary Arts Club will be selling blended smoothies today during all lunch periods in the commons for only two dollars.

All proceeds go towards service projects within our building!


The Varsity Tennis Team posted a 3rd place finish in their 16 team sectional, qualifying 3 players for the state tournament. Qualifying for the state tournament were Molly Hemes (pronounced Hey-Miss) and the doubles team of Taylor Weuve and Mimi Nguyen (pronounced Win). Molly earned her second trip to the state tournament with a 2nd place finish at #1 singles and Taylor and Mimi posted a 4th place finish at #1 doubles. Other outstanding finishers for the Lady Hornets were:

#2 Singles: Alyssa Tank – 3rd place
#3 Singles: Lauren Seidl – 4th place
#2 Doubles: Madeline Baretta / Emily Griswold – 3rd place
#3 Doubles: Melissa Charles / Brooke Weyenberg - 4th place

Varsity players that are interested in going to state should contact Mrs. Weuve this weekend. All members of the team: don’t forget the Autumn Adventure fundraiser and service project tomorrow. If you signed up to work, please see Alyssa Tank for more info.

The East/Preble Marlins girls swim team had a great meet against Bay Port last night. Unfortunately, they suffered their first loss of the season. The final scores were JV 69 - 94, and varsity 81 - 89. Varsity first place individual and relay swimmers were:

The Thursday Breakfast Optimist Club is in need of volunteers for the Kids Autumn Adventure. It takes place tomorrow October 11 from 9:30 – 2:00 pm. The Event will be held at the Wildlife Sanctuary. Sign up in the Career Center.
