Musical
Will the students who signed up for the Tech Crew (lighting and sound) either for their 1st or 2nd choice at yesterday’s Crews Meeting, please meet at 3:15 in the back of the auditorium today.

MAC Scholars
MAC Scholars will meet TODAY after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the back of the LMC by The Career Center

Anyone who is interested in learning more about MAC Scholars is invited to join us – please come and invite your friends!!

Scholarships
Seniors scholarships are beginning to arrive in the Career Center. Stop in periodically to check out the list. The following scholarships are now available:

-SAE Engineering Scholarships –Applicant must plan to enroll in an engineering or related science program

-Wendy’s High School Heisman Award – Applicant must excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership

-American Chemical Society Scholarships – Applicants must be of African-American, Hispanic, or Native American decent. Applicant planning to obtain a 4-year degree must pursue a degree in chemical sciences, those planning a two-year degree must plan on pursuing a degree in chemical technology.

-2008 Horatio Alger Scholarship – Applicant must be involved in co-curricular and community service. GPA of 2.0 required. Critical financial need also required.

-Money Smart Kid Essay Contest – Involves a 300 word essay pertaining to the recent “credit crunch”.

-First Freedom Student Competition Essay – Essay pertains to the history and relevance of religious freedom in America and the world today.

FCCLA
The first FCCLA meeting of the school year will take place today after school in room 137. FCCLA covers many different areas including child development, culinary arts, community service, career exploration, and much more. All new members are welcome. Please see Ms. Blaney in room 137 if you have any questions about FCCLA.

Girls Golf

Yesterday the Girls Golf team finished 8th in the 15 team Sheboygan Invite. Leading the Hornets were Lauren Lindsley with an 89 and Olivia Lindsley with a 99.

Today the girls travel to Highland Ridge to take on Ashwaubenon and Pulaski in a FRCC meet.

Homecoming
Homecoming is just around the corner and it just wouldn't be the same without a 2008 Homecoming T-shirt. Order forms are available from all 31 Cheerleaders as well as in the Main Office. Short sleeved t-shirts are $10 and long sleeved t-shirts are $12. Add $1 for size XL and 2XL. Completed forms and money should be dropped in the box in the main office. Shirts will be available for pick up during the lunch hours in the Commons the week of Homecoming. The deadline for orders is Friday, September 19th.

Freshman Dance
Attention All Freshmen!! Are you getting excited for your first high school dance? Well, you won’t have to wait much longer! On Friday September 12th, Link Crew invites you to kick off your first year at Preble High School with the Freshman Only Dance! The dance will run from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Tickets are $5.00 at the door. Be sure to bring your student ID. There will be music, and door prizes! Hope to see you there!

Attention Link Crew Leaders!

We will be having our first whole group meeting of the year on Wednesday morning, September 12th. We will meet from 7:00 to 7:15 in the auditorium. There will be a lot of valuable information about upcoming events, so it is important for all leaders to attend! Remember each leader must attend a minimum of 3 meetings during the school year. If you can’t attend please see Mr. Yonts, Ms. Nelson, or Mrs. Rowe. Don’t forget to wear your t-shirts!

The Preble Music Parents
The Preble Music Parents will meet Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the music theory lab (room 192). All parents of music students are invited.

Parking Pass
Students who put in a parking pass application and where placed on the waiting list please bring your $50.00 to the main office and pick up your parking pass.

Pictures:
Students who ordered pictures from Harmann Studios during registration days can pick them up in the auditorium ticket booth during lunch today.

Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer teams play AT Bay Port High School tonight. The JV game begins at 4:30 followed by Varsity at 6:30.
