The Buzz
There will be a short meeting for anyone interested in being on the newspaper staff this year. We will meet in room 132 after school on Monday, Sept 8. If you cannot make the meeting, but would like to be on the Buzz, stop in room 132 during the day on Monday.


Costa Rica Trip
Attention all students who went on the Costa Rica trip over the summer: I have your picture and video Cd’s for you. Please stop by room 221 to pick it up.


Girls' Volleyball Don’t miss the first home game for the girls’ volleyball team tonight as the Hornets take on Ashwaubenon. Freshmen and JV begin at 5:30pm, with varsity starting at 7pm. Join the SWARM and support Hornet volleyball.

Seniors sign up in the Career Center

Attention juniors who plan to apply to NWTC in a Health Program.
There is a 4-day application window for the following programs:

-Dental Hygiene
-Diagnostic Medical Sonography
-Nursing-Associate Degree
-Radiography

NWTC will accept admissions applications the week of Sept. 2-5, 2008 for the Fall 2009 wait list. It is imperative you apply during this time frame. Applications will only be accepted during this week. Chemistry needs to be completed at the time of application for the Nursing-Associate, Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs. Chemistry can be in progress at the time for all other Associate Degree Health Programs. Stop in the Career Center for further details.

Jack Drankoff Preble Community 5k
Hey Preble High School. With the start of another school year comes thoughts of an exciting homecoming week and is there a better way to get the homecoming week started than by participating in the Jack Drankoff Preble Community 5k? Last year 400 people came out to walk or run the event and get Preble’s homecoming week off to an incredible start. If you want to be part of this great event you can pick up a sign up form in the office or download it off of the Preble web page. This kick off event is on Saturday September 20th at 9 AM. If you enter before September 11th you can get the early bird discount. So sign up today and we will see you at this great event.

Service Learning opportunities are beginning to arrive.
Students interested in volunteering are encouraged to stop in the Career Center to check it out.


The Botanical Garden is in need of volunteers for their Fall Family Fest on Sept. 27 from 8a.m.-3p.m. Assist with set up, games, and/or clean up.

The Green Bay West Lions Club is in need of volunteers to hand out material at the Verison Gate before the start of Packer home games. Volunteers should report at 9a.m. There is a home Packer game this Monday evening. Students need to sigh up in the Career Center by 2nd hour tomorrow morning.

Sting Cancer
Sting Cancer Faculty Advisors have a meeting in the LMC right after school today.

Class Officers
Students wishing to run for Class Officer need to fill in and return an intent-to-run form, which is available in the Main Office and is due back there by 3:00 on Monday, September 8. Officers will be elected next week for every grade.

Tennis Team
Congratulations to the Varsity Tennis Team as they opened their conference season with a 7-0 win over BayPort. Players earning wins for the Lady Hornets were:

The East Preble Marlins
The East Preble Marlins swim team took first place in the conference relay meet! Come cheer on the Marlins tonight at their first home meet against Manitowoc. All home meets are held at Edison middle school and begin at 5:30 p.m.
