Art Auction Announcement
For 1 week only, all students, faculty, and staff are invited to bid on the Art Department’s Silent Auction. Here’s how it works. Stop by the display case by the art rooms and bid in the binder in room 183. Bids start as low as only 25 cents! Stop by after school Friday, May 9th to see if you are the highest bid. The highest bid pays for the artwork on Friday and takes home a one-of-a-kind art piece! All proceeds from the Silent Art Auction benefit the Art Department and the purchase of this year’s student artwork for the permanent art collect.

Ballroom Dancing Club
Come “take the lead” in the new Ballroom Dancing Club! Fun beginner lessons will take place every Wednesday, beginning May 7, at 3:05 in Ms. Gruski’s room, room 123. Expert Ballroom Dance instructor and student teacher, Mike Witte, will be teaching the class. All experience levels are welcome. Wear shoes you’ll be comfortable dancing in, and come join the fun!
Cheerleading Tryouts
The cheerleading team is looking for hard working, committed individuals to represent Preble during the 2008-2009 school year. If you're looking for something that will challenge you mentally and physically, with a heavy dose of school spirit, then try out for the cheer team! Cheerleaders stunt, tumble, dance and compete at local and state competitions besides cheering for Preble football and basketball games.
Practices are Monday and Tuesday, May 19 and 20 from 7:45-9:00 pm in the Wrestling Room. Tryouts are Wednesday, May 21 starting at 3:30 pm. A medical card is required to participate in practices and tryouts, so pick one up from the main office and bring it with you on May 19.
HORNETS WIN OLBRICH INVITATIONAL
The Preble golf team placed 1st in the 3rd annual Jerry Olbrich/Red Devil Match Play Invitational held Saturday at the Woods Golf Club.
Members of the 1st place Hornets were Andy Waselchuk, Davis Kim, Phil Lemke, Joey Vandenhouten, Steve VandenAvond, Derek Blackman, Zach Berhow and Brandon Chaloupka.
The golf team is in action again today, hosting Sheboygan South at Royal Scot Country Club.
All players not participating in today’s meet will practice at Royal Scot.
ALL TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES.

IF YOU FORGOT YOUR UNIFORM, MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO GET IT BY THE END OF SCHOOL. THERE ARE NO EXTRA UNIFORMS TO BORROW FOR PICTURES.

State Solo & Ensemble Festival
Congratulations to all the Preble musicians who participated in the State solo & ensemble festival on Saturday. There were many great performances and Preble High School was extremely well represented. Great Job from all your music teachers!"

Tomorrow, Tueday at 3:05, PAC will welcome John Gard, former Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, who will discuss state and national political issues with PAC members and visitors. His time is limited tomorrow, so please come early and get a seat for a fiery political debate. See you Tuesday in room 107 at 3:05! Let’s politic it up!
Seniors
Seniors who have accumulated 100 or more hours over their high school career will be recognized with a gold cord at the graduation ceremony. In order for seniors to receive their cord, they must have their hours turned in by Monday, May 12th.
Service hours for graduation purposes are due May 28th.
SENIORS YOU ARE REMINDED THAT….
Service Learning hours are due Wednesday, May 28. Your requirement is not complete until they are on file in the Career Center. If you have completed the hours, please turn them in as soon as possible. If you will not have met the 24 hour requirement by May 28, and wish to participate in the graduation ceremony, you must have a “service plan” on file in the Career Center indicating how you will complete the service. Once the requirement is met, you will receive your diploma. Remember the “Plan” is your ticket to participate in the graduation ceremony!
Pick up a “Plan” from Mrs. Bossell in the Career Center.
Student Council
Congratulations to the following students who have been voted onto the Intra-City Student Council for next year. They are: Shaina Beckers, Sara Gonzalez, Nick Grobarchik, Brittnee Jackson, Courtney Kuehn and Jennifer Rifleman. These students will be receiving information shortly.
Senior Ball
Senior Ball tickets will go on sale this week in Room 200 and next week in both Room 200 and in the Commons during lunch hours. Each ticket will be $40.00, and includes dinner, dance a souvenir photo by Harmann and a travel mug.
Reminder to Walking Club members:
there will be no walking club tonight due to the faculty meeting after school. See you next Monday, May 12.
