Trees for Tomorrow
2008 TREES for Tomorrow Women will meet in Mrs. Bornowski’s room 217 Thursday after school for about 30 minutes. If possible bring your completed forms.

Careers in Art
The ART garage Art Gallery is holding a “Careers in Art” Job Fair this Thursday April 24, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Any student wishing to learn more about careers in art-related fields such as web design, video design, interior design, presentation media, corporate events, audio visual media, and art education are welcome to attend. No prior registration is required, and admission is free. The ART garage is located at 1400 Main St.

FCCLA
Congratulations to Yer Xiong and Jazmin LaPlante for their outstanding performance at the 2008 FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Yer took first place in the Career Exploration competition and Jazmin took first place in the Culinary Arts Competition. Both students were the national qualifiers to represent Wisconsin at the 2008 FCCLA National Leadership Conference to be held in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations Yer and Jazmin! Also, there will be an FCCLA meeting on Tuesday, April 29th in room 137 at 3:00. All new members are welcome.

Freshmen
Applications for the Brown County Teen Leadership program are due this Friday, April 25. Applications must be mailed or brought to the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Stop in Career Center for further information.


HORNET GOLFERS WIN SECOND MATCH
Led by Tom Boockmeier’s 39, the varsity golf team defeated Bay Port and Green Bay Southwest in a meet held at Royal Scot Country Club.
Tyler Wadzinski and Trevor Quass each shot a 41 to aid in the win.

In JV competition Payne Quass and Jake Liimatta each fired a 40 to help the JV golf squad to a 1st place finish over the Bay Port and Southwest JV’s.

All players not playing in today’s meet are to be at practice at Royal Scot.

GSA

There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow after school in room 258. You can pick up your day of silence t-shirt at this time. If you cannot attend the meeting and you ordered a t-shirt, you can stop in room 258 anytime during the school day tomorrow to pick it up.

Remember if you plan to be silent during your classes Friday, you must have your teachers sign the form for participation. If you have any questions about this, please see Miss Warnke in room 258.

The Presidential Service Award
The Presidential Service Award will be awarded to students who have completed 100+ hours of service from May 1, 2007 – May 1, 2008. Recipient will receive a medal and certificate signed by President Bush for their service.

If you are one of these outstanding students, please submit your service forms to Mrs. Bossell in the Career Center by May 1st.

Seniors

Seniors, graduation is quickly approaching. As part of your graduation requirement, you must have 24 hours of service learning completed. Those who do not meet the requirement will not receive a diploma. Students needing hours are encouraged to stop in the Career Center for ideas on how to fulfill the requirement.

Senior service hours are due in the Career Center by May 28th.

Seniors service hours are posted on the wall across from the Student Service department. Please check it out for any discrepancies.


The Green Idea:
Instead of using your dishwasher’s drying function, turn off the appliance after the final rinse, prop open the door, and allow the dishes to air dry. (On some models, you can just switch off the dish dryer.) Air-drying your dishes can save 10 percent of the energy used for each load.

To members of Band III

congratulations on an excellent performance at the Green Bay Band Clinic Festival. The group received high praise from the judges. You represented Preble very well. Great Job!

Volunteers needed for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon.

Tuesday, May 13 from 4-8pm. Duties include assembling the race packets and Saturday Mary 17 from 4-8:30pm. Duties include handing out packets to runners. Volunteer will receive free pizza and t-shirts. Stop in Career Center for further details.
