Sting Cancer:
We would like everyone to know how much there support for SC has meant to our group this year. We would like to personally extend an invitation to everyone in this building for our April 19th dinner gala. While an email and an announcement may seem a bit informal, we realize this is the best way to get out pertinent info to as many people as we can.

The dinner gala is Saturday, April 19th here at Preble High School. It is a combination of Sting Cancer students celebrating their achievements and Preble Culinary Arts showing off what they do best. The Culinary Arts group makes this an event one that cannot be missed. Last year a hotel-restaurant management graduate from UW-Stout remarked that in her years at Stout as an undergraduate, they had never achieved anything that matched the magnitude of how civilized, classy and simply unbelievable the Sting Cancer dinner was. She said that our Culinary Arts team was doing things beyond what most colleges do.

So if you have a chance to come on Saturday, April 19th and see Culinary Arts and Sting Cancer celebrate their accomplishments. The 3-course dinner will be highlighted by two very special cancer survivors Jerry Parins, Senior Security Advisor of the Green Bay Packers, and Preble’s very own special math teacher, Deanna Sundstrom.

The dinner will also include a small silent auction and a great chance to celebrate a very special night. Dinner costs $20 per plate, but please let Mr. Nez know if there are people who would like to go, but may not be able to handle the $20 cost of the dinner. Sting Cancer does have the opportunity to sponsor a limited amount of dinners.

Students and faculty, if you would like to reserve your spots for this great event, please contact Nick Nesvacil or Deanna Sundstrom as soon as possible

Attention all students and staff!
Next Monday, on April 14th, Preble will hold its last Red Cross Blood Drive of the year. There has been a change in the state laws, and now students who are 16 years old and older can donate blood with parent permission. Tomorrow during the Period 3 announcements, students will be given the opportunity to register to be a blood donor. Please consider giving blood next week.

Unity Expo
The Unity Expo will take place this Friday in the old gym. Students will attend through their Social Studies classes. Students who are putting up exhibits will begin set-up this Thursday after school. Student Coordinators will be receiving information today regarding Unity Expo plans. Staff members who have agreed to be sponsors should be checking in with their student coordinators this week.

UW-Milwaukee
Students who plan to participate in the UW-Milwaukee with Mr. Vaughn Vang on April 18 are reminded that permission slips are due in the Career Center tomorrow, April 15.

Track and Field
Our Men’s track and field team placed 8th in the state indoor meet in a field of over 90 teams.

This is a reminder to all our track and field athletes you are released at 2:30 today for your track meet. The line up will be posted down by the locker room area. Make sure you have the proper uniform ready to go.

The track apparel order is in. We will try to hand that out before we leave for the meet.
